We stayed here for 10 nights and have no complaints at all. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are as in any good hotel. Nice air conditioning. Lovely breakfast. Good pool area, although the water is a bit on the cold side. The location is perfect only a 5 minute walk from the Waterfront. We had... More

This is not a high-tech, modern place. It is a traditional, 1990's kind of hotel with excellent service, clean and well staffed. Concierge did a good job as did the restaurant staff. Great for an international or family traveler who wants an on-site restaurant and "above & beyond" service without paying through the nose. Great value. Short walk to V&A... More

not at all a bad experience - but the entrance floor, lifts, rooms & bathrooms etc are showing signs of wear. This could be due to the large groups that use the hotel & the Laminate wooden floor in the foyer that is not quite suitable to this volume of traffic. Obv the "Nautical Theme" forced the decision to use... More

we stayed in this hotel on the first part of our 3 week holiday for 3 nights. Our first impression was how friendly the staff were. The hotel itself is very clean and glamorous. Breakfast was really nice and being able to sit outside was lovely. Pool are is quite small but adequate, with plenty of sun beds. Rooms are... More

The big plus of this hotel is its location. It takes you less than 5 minutes to V&A Waterfront. But not just this, also the room was perfectly equipped and the breakfast was anyhow top! Staff was friendly and helpful, so we can just recommend it!

I have recently checked into the hotel, am on a 2-day business stay. Not a very warm welcome at the hotel, and no concierge services to assist me with my luggage. So not a good start to my weekend in Cape town at toad hotel. My room is quite average as well, and the linen is not clean.

Fabulous efficient check in. Room facing over the V&A towards the Mountain with views off the balcony is just Heaven. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean! The staff are fabulous and this truly is 4 Stars. Valet parking for R75.00 per day completes the hotel to perfection. A 4 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront gives a variety of... More

Great location just a two block walk to V & A waterfront along well-lit and safe streets. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, as is customer service. While it is not the Cape Grace or Victoria and Alfred it does not command their high prices, either, and is a bit nicer in my estimation than the adjoining Portswood. Best value on... More

This will be the 4th year we go back to the Commodore. The property is well looked after by the GM Roger Newton. He treats us like family, what a lovely experience. A short walk to the Waterfont where you can shop till you drop and eat to your hearts content. Wish I could spend an additional month there.
