My wife and I stayed 2 weeks at the Taj and generally had a good experience. As we had a fairly long stay we requested a high floor, so they put us on the top (17th floor), with views over the city and to the sea (in the distance). Our room was very good - a nice big comfortable bed,...

We have just had a five-night and a one-night stay at the Taj with a short break between as we did some touring around Cape Province. The Taj is a top flight international hotel so high quality accommodation and service is to be expected. But I have to say that our stays exceeded expectations in several ways including: The friendliness...

The large, high atrium lobby gets you right in the colonial spirit. A bit like going back in time (but with elevators that really work well). A great variety of bars and restaurants. Right on St. George's Mall for the periodic markets and artisan sales, not to mention additional coffee shops and restaurants.

This hotel is simply amazing. Staff are both accommodating and friendly. It is easy to walk to Castle of Good Hope and several other points of interest. We had dinner at Bombay Brasserie, they accommodated us, even though we did not have reservations. The food was delicious. If you are going to eat there, best to make a reservation. Great...

I have never stayed at Taj Cape Town but I sprained my ankle a few metres away from the hotel and went their to ask for some help. The staff warmly welcomed me and gave me some ice to put on my foot. I could stay there as long as needed for my foot to get a bit better. The...

So we have always been great fans of the Taj Group and even though Taj Cape Town has had its controversies in the past we have remained loyal throughout the years and visit it at least once annually. In fact that it's the only hotel we stay at when in Cape Town. Yesterday however an incident occurred which has forever...

Our family (all adults) stayed at the Taj upon our arrival in Cape Town for the busy holiday season pre New Years and were left sorely disappointed with our stay in comparison with the Belmond Mount Nelson. We stayed in a Luxury Room with a city view that was a tad outdated but nothing that would have garnered a lower...

The hotel was overall good. They had hot run out on Friday night through to early morning Saturday and they did not have a back up plan. The hotel manager offered their apology but this was hardly adequate as I was expected to have a cold bath after a long week and an early morning run. In addition their bath...

It's prime location ensures a blend of fascinating history, exotic culture, soulful art, lively entertainment and delectable cuisine. - Within walking distance to most tourist attractions, monuments, museums, shopping, restaurants, markets and nightlife. Adding to this grand yet welcoming atmosphere are the two dining experiences, the Indian fine dine specialty restaurant, Bombay Brasserie and Mint, a relaxed all-day dining restaurant. Both are warm and welcoming and serve outstanding cuisine. Alongside this you'll find wonderful Champagne and tapas bar known as The Twankey Bar which is exceedingly popular with both locals and guests alike. Rooms are located in both the heritage buildings and the contemporary tower wing, but all continue to seamlessly merge history and modernity.
