I was there last month and was amazed that they are putting that grey gravel on all the roads. I agree that it ruins the reserve. I won't be going back, which is very very sad as is gorgeous place and the staff so very nice. But I agree they seem to be ruining it with those roads

Dear Karen D - Thank you for sharing your impressions of your stay at Black Rhino Game Lodge. We understand your concerns about the gravel being laid on some of the roads; this was a decision taken by the Reserve management team, not by ourselves. The gravel is being used to provide an all-weather surface to facilitate safari activities year-round, and also to prevent erosion. We have passed on your concerns to the management of the Reserve.

Are kids/infants allowed for the game drive?
Good day, Unfortunately, children under the age of six (6) years in not allowed on the game drives, however, we offer bush bumbles for them where the parent and children go on their own game drive. This happens in the mornings after breakfast. Kind Regards Paul Putter Lodge Manager

Hi there, Looking for a safari x beach honey moon holiday for September next year and have been provided a quote for Black Rhino Lodge by a company called 2by2, has anyone ever been with this company? Or could some please let me know from the Lodge If bookings have ever been made through this company please? I can't find a trace of information or any reviews on this company however their website and the people we have been dealing with have been very informative. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You Nat
Dear Nat W - Thank you for your question and your interest in Black Rhino Game Lodge. We're not familiar with 2by2 so unfortunately we can't advise you as to how reputable they may be. While we're not able to comment on individual companies, we would always advise you to make any booking through an established and well-known travel company for peace of mind. If in doubt, you can contact SATSA (South African Tourism Services Association) who may be able to advise on individual companies.
