This glamping camp was 'the' surprise of our vacation. We visited 4 high end lodges during our stay and wanted to try the tented camp to have a tented but still luxurious experience. We were very impressed. We booked this place mainly because it came highly recommended for walking safaris. And let me give special thanks to André whom trough...

We spent 2 nights at the Plains Camp (in between 2 nights at Rhino Post) and had a really awesome experience there. The "tents" are more like cabins with canvas walls - private en suite bathrooms and comfy real beds and wooded floors, with traditional furniture and ceiling fans. We felt like we were in an old world safari camp,...

We stayed 2.5 days at Plains Camp before going to the main camp. Our stay was really good, the tents are super comfortable - it did not feel like camping at all! The camp is located near a water hole and we saw animals throughout the day as they went to the water hole to drink. Doug and Amos are...

Highly recommend staying at Rhino Plains Camp. Stay at least 3 days to make it worth while and be sure to spend a night in the sleep out under the stars! It was an amazing experience of luxury camping with an experienced ranger and wonderful accommodations and food. The number of animals we saw was unbelievable. I was pinching myself...

This place is something else. There are only four tents so 8 guests max. The word tents doesn't really do them justice - think fluffy towels, crisp linen and dark wood. The camp is set at the end of a plain that has a waterhole, so wildlife is constant. We left our tent for breakfast to be greeted by 2...

This is the highlight of our 2 weeks trip in South Africa. We did a 4 days / 3 nights package staying one night at the lodge, one night at Plains Camp and one night sleep-out. Fantastic. The staff and guides are professional, friendly and accommodating. The facilities are beautifully designed and comfortable plus great food. Great location. We spent...

We stayed two nights and one night sleep out. Firstly its a camp with nice facilities, its not a hotel room so be warned. Plains camp is comfortable, tents are well built and have bathroom and toilet facilities. It can get cold at night, we stayed end of May so going into winter. A good hot water bottle and some...

A great place for a walking Safari. Of course a walking safari can be hit or miss, you just have to accept that these are wild animals and while the guides know what they are doing - there is a degree of luck. Bernard and Amos got us within about 10 meters of a Leopard which I understand is pretty...

Plains Camp is lovely, rustic, secluded. Very tastefully decorated. But that's not why you choose it: you choose it for the sense of adventure. A Bernard-led walking safari leads you primordially through the African bush, thrillingly close to the animals--truly in contact with them versus merely looking at them on a driving safari. The food is very good (short of...
