The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was immaculately clean. The restaurant served very good good and overall my stay was great. I will definitely return the next time I am in Nelspruit. I will reccomend to friends and family!
Nice spacious rooms, only issue is the glass door for the shower and bathroom (in the family rooms!) if you dont necessarily want the other occupantss watch you shower etc. Also not great for the cold months as it is basically not separated from the main room. Waited more than an hour to get served at Orange restaurant and some orders were forgotten, but the food was good.
I didn’t get the room that I booked but still paid the same rate and was expensive. A lot of ants was in the room especially the toilet area and had to sleep the first night with no hot water in the room due to maintenance issue. The breakfast was very good with outdoor seating.
Fantastic, reception was supportive, rooms were very good and clean, the ORANGE restaurant experience was incredible 😀. We really enjoyed being in Francolin. I can guarantee so far is the best hotel in Nelspruit obviously based on my experience
Excellent service from reception thank you , very clean , neat and attention to detail excellent , thank you Beautiful scenery and safe parking , staff very friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to cater to our needs
Perfect spot , good restaurant I think is the best in Mpumalanga . I recommend everyone . Louries have one of the best rooms and breakfast…and the view is amazing . I can’t wait to go back …. The lounge is Perfect
Beautiful area and exquisite rooms. Very clean. The restaurant on the premises is truly 5 star!!! Staff is professional and very helpfull. Garden is beautifully maintained. I can recommend it definitely
We stayed at Francolin Lodge from the 10th of January 2022. I booked 2 rooms for contingency since we were in Nelspruit to attend a funeral. The day we checked in , we were notified that any additional occupants would be charged a nightly rate regardless of the fact that the room was for 4 occupants. The lady at check in even phrased it by saying that 'it was my fault for not stating the number of occupants and their loss for reserving a 4 occupants room' . Everything went down-hill from there on. The staff started spying on us and apparently we were not allowed to have visitors. Our locks were changed while we were out in the evening , because they thought we had run away with their R2000 bill (which was meant to be paid at checkout ). When we went to the reception to enquire about this lock change, they said they thought we had run away leaving our valuables and rental car in their car park. They later insinuated that we could be 'fraudsters' using other people's credit cards to pay for rooms since we were foreigners (from UK booking through Hotel.com). My 4 year old niece was charged a full adult rate for staying over in my mum's room , which we paid without issues. The fact that we were spending 4 times their nightly rate every evening at the Orange restaurant , was not even considered - in -fact we were told that the Orange restaurant is an independent business from the Lodge. To cut the long story short, the whole experience made me feel victimised and traumatised. Being locked out of my room in the middle of the night in a foreign country was the most scariest experience i have ever had. We gladly checked out the next morning and headed straight to Four Seasons in JHB, This was my first experience staying at a Lodge and i will NEVER recommend Francolin Lodge to anyone visiting Nelspruit.…
It was a great getaway for my Mom and her 2 Granddaughters. They enjoyed the breakfast. Just missed out on the Lovely Dinner from the restaurant, as it was closed. The Orange restaurant need to extend their working days. Thank you Sindi and Wethu
Beautiful views over the city of Nelspruit. Comfortable and very stylish rooms. Dinner at the Orange Restaurant is also a must with fantastic views over the city skyline. And on top of it all, it is actually pretty affordable.
