Returning after the enforced Covid break for our third stay at Bamboo lodge. Great position between Hazyview and Sabie makes for easy access to KNP and the Panorama route We were please to get our favourite room but slightly disappointed that we had no Hippos in residence this time. Enjoyed a day relaxing by the pool after 2 weeks touring and nice to have food/drink available from the bar as needed. Restaurant setup has changed and is now open to outside visitors resulting in a fixed menu rather than a daily (smaller) option. Food well presented and good quality but not so interesting as previously Minor criticisms - no help offered with luggage on arrival, and it's a long way down a lot of steps to lug two large cases. Wash basins in room blocked again - I had to fix this last time! Rooms need to be checked more thoroughly for maintenance issues. At least the road into the property was a little better this time with an improved surface to navigate down the steep road and across the dam. Overall a pleasant stay in a beautiful property despite variable weather! We will be back again. …
This is beautiful resort, situated in a peaceful and tranquil location. We had a lovely relaxing weekend with the family. I'd recommend it for a relaxing getaway. The staff is very friendly. Although, it would be great if a food menu catering for children could also be added.
This was our 3rd stop on our 2 week Honeymoon road trip. From check in Patson was a star. He was everything from front desk/porter/waiter/barman a well all rounder. "Give that man a bells". The accommodation was fantastic with everything you can think of. Really enjoyed the lakeside dining area. A short stay but we'll definitely be back.
The property is nested along a lake and its surroundings are gorgeous. However, the rooms were outdated and the food was terrible. Unless you are willing to drive 30-45 minutes to the nearest restaurant, you are bound to the lodge. We'd just driven the whole day and wanted to enjoy our one night there. The food was disgusting, there's no nicer way to say it. The service was poor too. They hardly had any guests and still managed to keep us waiting for more than an hour. Would not recommend staying here.
We travelled through Long Tom Pass to get to the lodge. The pictures are a true reflection of the accommodation. Our rooms were immaculate, modern and right on the lake. It is truly a serene setting. The meal portions were generous, with a decent selection on the menu. The staff are attentive and polite. We loved our stay there.
Bambuu Lakeside Lodge is the best lodge I've been to so far. I recommend this lodge especially if you want a quiet, private lodge. I really had peace of mind far away from Johannesburg's busy lifestyle. Convenient location as well and they also provide excellent customer service. I'm definitely coming back with my children very soon.
Totally serene and tranquil we enjoyed every private and quite moment. My love enjoys fishing so this was a nice treat for him he only wishes he could fish and release. Waking up to the water and tulips every morning was breathtaking
I looooved the place. Its so beautiful I can come there 5 times a year. The lake is beautiful, very quite and a place to be if you need a peace of mind. I have a few suggestions for the luxury rooms i.e. King bed, min bar fridge, patio furniture and smoking area.
Excellent accommodation my kids wanted us to extend accommodations. Lodge must expand the menu at the restaurant. Laundry service is not good quality ladies are not taught how to do guests Laundry . Otherwise place is excellent. We going back in 2023
