Unfortunately me and my wife only got to stay at the Rissington for one night for an early flight, however we were very impressed with the hotel as a whole. We stayed in the garden view suite which had a stunning view in the day and even better at sunset! The room was very large, open plan and was accompanied with a large bathroom with a bath and a private outdoor shower! We stayed at the Inn for an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. All the food was plentiful and really tasty (the trout pasta was amazing!). The wine menu was also great and the healthy servings that came with it was a bonus! Overall a great stay and we wish we had a little longer to use the hotel facilities (e.g. the pool and garden walks) - may be one for the future!

We spent two nights in this Inn. The room was cosy and clean, as was the bathroom. And a great bed too! Both our room and the bar and restaurant terrace offer a great view over the hills. The staff was friendly and helpful and their restaurant serves a close to great three course dinner in the evening and a wholesome breakfast in the morning.

Room had great view although possibly needed some form of heating for the very cold evenings. Staff were friendly and helpful and food very good. Well worth our stay, although I would state that possibly a sign on left side of road when coming from Kruger would have made entrance easier to spot.

Thanks for your kind review. I am so glad that you had a good time at Rissington and that the staff impressed you. You had me completely baffled with your comments about the signage because there was an official brown tourism sign coming from that direction so I went up to check today and - alas! - it has mysteriously disappeared. We shall order another one but, in the meantime, I have put up temporary signage to replace it. Thanks for pointing it out. We do have heating in the rooms though. The air conditioners double up as heaters if you set them to a warmer temperature. I am sorry if this wasn't made clear. Thanks for staying and we hope to see you again soon. All the best.

On 17th May a party of 30 from the UK and other counties descended on The Rissington Inn in Hazyview to start an amazing two weeks adventure, mainly for the wedding of our granddaughter. When this trip was first booked in May 2021 the owner Chris Harvie kindly agreed to give us sole occupancy – a most generous action. When COVID intervened and the trip had to be re-arranged for October 2021, then again for May 2022 he repeated his offer. It is hard to put into words our appreciation and admiration for Chris and all his wonderful staff. No request was ever refused and we were treated like royalty. The pool was lovely as were the grounds, giving a calm ambiance all around. Both the quality and choice of the food were excellent. Added to all that, Chris and his staff drove a…

We returned to Rissington and it felt like coming home. We were reacquainted with the great, food, views and accommodation. The helpful, smiling team made our stay perfect. We had also greatly missed Chris, his stories and humour. One of which I am currently reading. Au revoir.

This hotel proved to be an exceptional experience set in a spectacular and convenient location with outstanding views from its beautiful and extensive grounds and gardens. Rooms were spacious, impeccably clean and comfortable and both management and staff could not have been more attentive to our needs ( we travelled as a family including an infant) and ensuring that we had the most enjoyable time possible in such a welcoming environment. Breakfast could not have provided a more extensive or nutritious choice and an evening table d’hote menu which changed daily provided extremely high quality meals and accompanying drinks at extremely modest prices. We had a truly great experience at Rissington.

A few teething problems with the room upon arrival, but swiftly rectified by the very friendly and accommodating staff. The staff couldn’t be any more friendlier, always have a smile. Food is delicious (had to go back for seconds), budget room is very accommodating, bed very comfy. Kudos to Chris and team for a welcoming stay.

Rissington Inn was the first stop on our first holiday in South Africa and we were really impressed. The Inn is just outside Hazyview centre down an unmade road, you need a decent vehicle to get there but once you have arrived the views across the garden and beyond are stunning. We were very warmly welcomed and shown to our suite. It was rustic but very comfortable and had everything we needed including a nice terrace where we could sit and watch the incredible sunsets over the mountains. The gardens were also beautifully kept and there was a nice pool below the lovely terrace. We stayed at Rissington for 3 nights and used it as a great base to visit Kruger (Phabeni Gate was only 15mins drive away) and also the Panorama Route through the incredible mountains up towards…
