We did not know what to expect when we booked a two-day stay at Highgrove House. I had searched online for an hotel that had good food and a spa, because those are the things my wife enjoyed in the stay. But, Highgrove House blew our minds. From the moment we turned off the highway onto the gravel path, lined with trees, we were transported into a world of beauty and tranquility, which was matched every step of the way, from our reception, to the excellent 7 course meal, and the magnificent suites, we stayed in, surrounded by lush gardens and a macadamia nut far. It was an unforgettable pleasure, which we could recommend to anybody.
Very big suite with fireplace, pool and sauna. Delicious 5 course dinner and impeccable service. Beautiful garden and elegant interiors. We were welcomed in a really special way and treated like queens. Unforgettable!
Highgrove House is a hidden gem, tucked away on route to the Kruger National Park. When entering this gorgeous establishment, we were greeted by a forest of Blue Gum trees that guided us through to the farm. On the way down to the reception / Manor House we drove through the Macadamia Nut and Avocado trees. The most spectacular sight of all is the Jacaranda tree avenue which led us to our eventual destination. Once parked and ready for the luxury that Highgrove House has to offer, we were pleasantly greeted by Jolene and her incredibly friendly staff. We were served a small refreshing juice, and a warm, steamed towel. The staff members immediately took our bags to our rooms, even before we made our way to the reception. Our rooms were gorgeous. We stayed in the Executive suite with the private pool and sauna, and it was the best decision we could have made. Worth every single cent! Your every need is catered for, and we truly felt that personal touch with everything we experienced. The food was absolutely Sublime. An elegant fine dining experience that holds the old-world charm. Thank you Highgrove House for spoiling my husband and I . We will most certainly be back!…
There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe our experience here. The three of us were the only guests and all the staff could not be more accommodating. Excellent food and comfortable accommodation with seclusion and tranquility. Jolene is a very kind and thoughtful host.
Just spent a week at Highgrove House and feel blifully spoiled! To be treated with such care and spoiled so utterly does not happen everywhere! : Here you are treated with such hospitality. Attention to detail is superb. Upon arrival you will know that these guys are professionals! They themselves have traveled the world and know just exactly how tourists would like to be treated! The accommodation is faultless and perfect, sauna and pool totally private and all you will hear is the sound of wind in the trees, birds and the occasional fall of a flouting autumn leave dropping to the ground. You are escorted with an umbrella in the rain, torchlight and chats to dinner, the romantic, secluded setting is classy and fresh...... 5 Cource dinners are amazing and I, who live cooking and entertaining learn something new here every time. Balsamic pearls, made on site, melts in your mount... Oxtail, trout, whatever is presented is superbly presented and looks perfect for any creative soul! All produce sourced locally, super freshly delivered daily.... For nature lovers there are huge trees to embrace and enjoy their shade and shelter... Private avocado orchard has plenty of sunny spots for a blanket and book or walks.. Macedamua nut trees and huge forest area gives plenty time for exploring, walking, smells and feeling part of nature. There is moss and lemon trees, herbs and bee hives butterflies and peace, all around! Thank you for hosting us all, we could not dream of a better place to gather around for delicious (very delicious) breakfast and yes..... Breads are baked on site, fresh daily so is honey harvested right there and you guested it, that marmelade.... Made righ here. We were a noisy, busy bunch of 18 people and we all felt as if we were thé most important guests. Heartfelt thank you. Till next time, we wíll be back!…
The above title is the establishments motto and that is exactly what we experienced at the hotel. We celebrated my 70th birthday party (May 2021) and my sons' 40th birthday (April 2022) at Highgrove House Hazeyview and absolutely NOTHING was a problem. My wife and I have also made use of Highgrove on other occasions and again whatever we requested nothing was a hassle. If only other places could have the same attitude. The cuisine is out of the top draw and is prepared with love and affection by Thelma the chef. All in all a wonderful experience - friendly and helpful staff, accommodation, setting and cuisine.
I wish to express my appreciation and gratitude to Johlene and her team. Each staff member have such a special service culture and will go beyond to ensure that guests are always satisfied. Highgrove house has scenery, tranquility and an absolute delectable menu. The quality of food, with the ambience equals the 5 star grading. Auphesy Mazibuko is an exceptional therapist too.
We had the most amazing stay at Highgrove House, recommended to any one that's enjoys luxurious and comfortable accommodation. Great setting out of this world cuisine. Friendliest staff that makes you feel so welcome.
Knowing that Highgrove Guesthouse won the World Global award for Small Luxury Hotels on multiple occasions, it was on our bucket list for my parents' 40th anniversary. In my parents' own words: "We were blown away by everything at Highgrove House. At the entry the most beautiful gardens of more than a 150 years old greeted and welcomed us. We were warmly welcomed by the professional host Johlene and her team and even upgraded to their exclusive honeymoon suite. We were treated to a dinner where every need with food allergies were carefully noted and where a superb , unforgetable 5 course dinner was served. Arriving back in the room ,Champagne and snacks awaited us with a fire burning to make it a special perfect evening. The breakfast were served earlier to accommodate our schedule and gifts for father's day made it so special.Leaving Highgrove we decided to came back soon and stay longer." From myself and my husband: Highgrove house is a destination in itself. Walking through the exquisite gardens, sitting on our room's veranda and listening to the birds, the wonderful food and luxury rooms exceeded all our expectations. The outdoor shower under the canopy of the century old trees is so unique. This is definitely a place to "retreat" and get away from it all. It is the perfect distance from the Kruger Park, but we definitely recommend staying longer than 2 nights. The chef at Highgrove is absolutely wonderful - from Homemade yoghurt, jams, bread and pastries to a fresh and tasty 5-course dinner. I am still dreaming about it. Johlene and her team made us feel like family and, despite such difficult times for the hospitality industry, always had a smile on their faces and everything was executed to perfection. This place is an absolute gem! We will be back!…
Celebrated my wife’s 40th at Highgrove - couples get away. We spent three nights. The stay in all respects was fantastic, room was plush, food was out of this world, relaxing Spa treatment and the Highgrove team treated us like royalty during the course of our stay. We will be back!
