The hotel claims to have crisp clean linen however the bedding was dirty and was smelling offensive. The room was dirty with cobwebs and leaves everywhere. The rest of the house is very run down and is not pleasant to look at. The pictures on the internet are not what the room looks like. The room has many open spaces between the walls and ceiling, this allowed many lizards, geckos, spiders and insects to enter the room. (And they are crawling on you while you sleep). The room was not cleaned daily so there was no other way that the insects could have entered a locked room. The bed is extremely poor quality. My partner and I had a badly dented bed which caused backache and did not get a good nights rest. The room was close to the road, cannot sleep with all the noise of the cars on the highway. This is a big problem since the main reason was to visit Kruger National Park. I have visited Kruger many times and this was a horrible stay. My partner and I were extremely upset that we did not stay the complete duration of our stay. We left a night earlier. I am sure that the owner was not even aware of this as no one even contacted me to ask why we had departed early. I grew up on a farm - this is not a farm experience. This cannot even be regarded as a hotel/ guest house, it should rather be called a cheap back packers lodge

when you booked online, they promess you a good place with possibilities of internet and some stuff to do but.... when you arrived, you have to call the host and wait for her, internet is not working, the pool is full of molds , the walls need painting renovation, and when we wanted to watch tv we find out she didn't pay for the channels!!! But you can have Cockroaches(Sneaks) to keep you company... Even if the host is really nice, she's never here to see if you need something so you have to call her. And when you want to leave it's the same problem. With her place she could do something really great but we were happy to stay just for 2 nights.

If you choose Loerie for stopover before Kruger, just for sleeping, you will not regret it. Like us. Really not bad... For the money... After some problems (they had wrong location on Booking map, so we got lost), some waiting (you should call owner), we got bigger room with kitchen. It was fine. We were the only guests, little scary with foggy weather and rain :) Its a little bit close to road between Sabie and Hazyview, so you will hear noisy traffic in the evening.

The place seriously needs renovation! In dire need of a paint job, linen very old and a there was a very old and dirty carpet in the bathroom. Luckily we camped before our visit and had all our equipment as the fridge was not switched on, the stove's gas wasn't connected and we could use our own linen. There is a notice to wash the dishes before you leave but there wasn't any dish-washing liquid...We paid R840 for the night but not even R420 per night would convince me that it was value for money! On a positive side Maretha and Abrie were very friendly, the farm is beautiful and my kids had a lot of fun. We had a good night's rest, but we would definitely not go back and we are glad we only booked for 1 night.

We stayed at a bush cottage for one night and it was really good! I know they have more rooms, but these must have been far away, because there was no noise whatsoever and we didn't see them at all. Maretha, the owner, welcomed us and helped in planning the trip for the next day. The cottage was really nice. It has all the amenities, like a kitchen with pots, pans, utensils etc, a bathroom with a good shower, there is a braai and two chairs. We only missed a table for outside, would have been easy for dinner. Everything is provided, bedlinnen, towels etc and the cottage is clean. The beds were a bid hard for our tastes. There are shops nearby to do the foodshopping and the cottage is in a good location for the Panorama route.

The place is inexpensive but you get what you pay for. For R280 per night, we got a small room that sleeps two with own shower and toilet and access to the communal kitchen. The rooms were quite small but could have been cleaner. There were a lot of cobwebs and dust on the beds and the sheets hadn't been properly cleaned. The owners changed them and apologised for this and generally seemed nice enough. The kitchen is equipped quite well with all types of cutlery, a fridge, kettles and couple of gas and electric hobs. There are places to eat nearby but would recommend to rather go into hazyview itself, if you're looking for a decent bite to eat. There were not many young people staying here. Mostly either older couples or families with kids. We stayed here for two nights and basically used it as a place to store our bags and get some shut eye for our Kruger trips. It takes approximately 15-20 min to the Phabeni and Numbi gates. Word of warning - it gets ridiculously busy over long holiday periods and the queues build up. Unfortunately the park gates aren't equipped to handle the volume of visitors at a go, we got in to the queue at a few minutes after 6 and managed to get in to the park closer to 8am. This is where you'd probably want to pay the premium for living in the SANParks accommodation within Kruger.

Inexpensive accommodation, clean and light rondavel (no door to bathroom!) with nice facilities including swimming pool and table tennis. Only downside is that we arrived on a Sunday afternoon when it was very quiet and had to wait for the owner to give us the keys.

This place is a gem. I have travelled extensively, living in budget and youth hostels around the world. Often these places offer such basic services that one regrets not having opted for something a little bit more expensive. What a delight then was Loerie Guest Farm! At Loerie I found warmth, a lovely affordable, clean room with my own bathroom, and money to spare in my pocket. The pool and games areas are lovely and you can experience a banana farm up close. There are also self-catering accommodation available. I can highly recommend this place. It is central and offers fantastic value for money.

Bit run-down on first glance, but everything is working and clean. They have a massive kitchen that caters for big school groups with every gimmic you need. Great for making you own meals. The owners are friendly and helpfull, even willing to fetch some olive oil from their neighbouring farm. So if you want a relaxed vibe with amenities to suit the true 'self caterer', at low rates, this is your place.
