We actually got accommodation in this beautiful hotel by chance as were staying in its neighbouring Hotel Numbi for 5 days but there were 2 large groups booked in there and we were consequently offered our last 2 nights at no extra cost in Little Pilgrims and it was superb, with huge comfortable rooms and great relaxation area outside with bar beside the pool and so much fun with all the other International guests. The food was great but we also visited their associated restaurants, Topolinos a great Italian and Pioneers where I had the best steak I’ve ever tasted at and it is so good, the South African International Rugby Union team the Springboks, arrived for dinner on same night we were there. Also, only 10 mins drive from entrance to Kruger National Park so ticked all the boxes.…
We were able to make Little Pilgrims our “home away from home” for a few days. It’s close to the Kruger, shopping centers, and other tourist destinations. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is friendly, and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the pool and the kids had heaps of fun! Will love to visit Little Pilgrims again!
We booked for 3 nights from 25-28th of December, the room description stated 1 king and 2 single separated by a door, when we got to the hotel, tired and hungry after a 9 hour drive the room allocated was 2 doubles. I brought this to the attention of management but to no avail or help, the manager then suggested he will find an extra bed to extend the double which i accepted for the night and to resolve the issue with the reservation clerk the next day. He then couldnt find a bed to keep his word! Room was filthy and dusty, blinds and floor had dust on them, shower didnt work as the water coming out was a trickle. We tried to have an early night but was near the dining room and the noise was unbearable. The next day i called the reservation clerk Goodman, who insisted he gave me the correct room, when we showed him the description on Agoda he arrogantly then argued that its Agodas problem and mistake and not his problem. he then also insisted that the room was not available and promised to check and call me back, 2 hours later i called him again and his arrogance increased and said he is checking and will call me back, still no call. after a long day at Kruger we get to the Hotel and find that we been allocated the correct room finally BUT our belongings have been moved without our consent after explicitly been told not to touch our things! the room aircon didnt work in the 35 degree heat in the small room, the bath tub tap was clogged and the sinks also. I requested that the reservation clerk refund me the difference between he room i booked and the one he gave me for the 1st night and he just laughed. i also repeatedly requested the managers number and contact details which they refused to give me…
Due to Covid lockdown our trip originally planned for March 2020 was extended to December. Such a disappointment to arrive and see how neglected the place is. Decking all loose and nails exposed. Broken railings etc, a law suite waiting to happen. The food in the restaurant was dismal and people with smaller kids don’t want to eat after 8pm and then wait another hour for food to arrive. Food was terrible with mainly starch and protein being served and staff complacent and apathetic. We have been home well over a week and are STILL waiting for our reimbursement that is due to us. We loved Mpumalanga itself but sadly Little Pilgrims dampened our experience
Resort hotel with comfortable rooms, US western like with funny posters to mark rooms and premises. Restaurant with good full menù at reasonable price, food was unexpectedly good and healthy. Around the hotel there many places to see: Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels, many scenic waterfalls, Echo Caves and of course Kruger Park.
We have stayed at Little Pilgrims for 4 nights as part of a package of kurt safari. The hotel was simple, yet clean. It sure was enough for our needs. The hotel kind has a Texas vibe. We had dinner included: the food was very good most of the times. Since we were everyday on Safaris, we only tried the lunch packs for breakfast, which were very complete. The staff (specially the staff at the restaurant) is very nice. I would return to the hotel. Ps: other trip advisor critics mention noise. I do recognise sound isolation isn’t the best attitude of this hotel. We could hear all the insect and frogs noises all throughout the night while we were trying to sleep.
Little Pilgrims is a brand new hotel so the rooms are newly renovated and beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the amenities throughout the hotel are excellent. They have a beautiful pool with bar area to relax at after a long safari drive and they have breakfast and dinner service as well. The staff is excellent and very attentive. They never hesitated to assist with anything we needed. In addition, the location is unbeatable! They are minutes from the Pabeni gate in The Kruger, which is very convenient for safari groups and self drive safaris!
Beautiful rooms. Slept very well. All toiletries supplied. Love the old town feel. Cosy restaurant. Only problem we had was the kitchen staff making a big noise at 4:45 while preparing breakfast (talking loud, etc.).
This is a nice place, rooms are very clean and neat, near shopping malls. We enjoyed our stay...but the mosquitoes had a lekker meal on us and the pool was a bit too deep but overall 10/10 with a great location
My friend and I stayed here 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. Clean rooms, onsite restaurant, poolside bar. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back and highly recommend!
