What a Pleasant Campsite Overall, the campsite is very clean and so close to nature as we had the experience to see wildlife in and around the camp and also a hyena that visited us on the other side of the fence while we were having a braai at dawn (1 x meter away). Already booked again to go through...

Came with my parents. The chalets are clean, with a lovely view. However there isn't a restaurant… and the chalets don't have hot stoves or microwaves so you have to use the communal cooking area to heat up or cook your food. The chalets do have kettles, fridges and toasters, though. You do need to go to the gate to...

This hotel has a friendly atmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a little balcony or patio. You can park your car in front of the accommodation. The staff is quite efficient. There is no WIFI in the rooms which might be a bit problematic for the younger tourists, but at the same time, it helps to focus on...

We booked into the Kruger National Park at last minute in a busy season and it was the only available place. It is very close to Malelane gate and to the park border. The camp does not have many people that is very nice! Unfortunately you can see farms from the camp and hear the trucks travelling outside the camp...

Great location just inside the Malelane gate. Small camp, we stayed in one of the chalets which had four beds, a toilet with separate shower with plentiful hot water and fridge, kettle and cooking utensils. Seating area with barbecue outside. There are shared kitchen and bathroom facilities in the camp for campers and caravanners. About 10 minutes from Berg en...

With only 5 chalets and not many more camp sites, this camp is a hidden jewel! Although you can see signs of civilisation across the river from the camp, you DEFINITELY still get that authentic bush feeling. At night you are visited by hyenas and bush bucks and the air is filled with the hippo noises from the river. The...

We spent a weekend at the Malelane camp and truly enjoyed it. Had elephants passing along the fence. Near enough to bergendal if one needs anything from the shop. Electricity and ablution facilities up to date. During school holidays Bergendal is often packed, and this camp is a nice alternative.

We always choose small camps in the Kruger as we like quiet: Malelane fits the bill perfectly. No electric fence, no shop, no restaurant, no crowds - perfect. There are only about 20 sites and a few rondavels on the site with a good camp kitchen, small but clean ablution block and a lovely grassed area at the center of...

My husband and I camped at Malelane for 4 nights over a long weekend. We were disappointed to find that the camp is pretty much on the boundary of the park. You could hear traffic on the main highway, trains etc. The view was also spoiled by the nearby town, highway, farms. Our first night I hardly slept and could...

We were very pleased with the standard of accommodation at Maleland given the very reasonable price. The chalets are well equipped with a fridge / freezer, bathroom with shower, toilet, storage and adequate kitchen utensils. There was a basic a/c unit in ours which kept the chalet cool, if not a little noisy. Bedding is provided but not very new...

Amenities

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Malelane Camp can be found where the rolling fields of sugar cane of the neighbouring farms and the majestic savannah of the Kruger National Park are separated by the powerful Crocodile River. The camp is unique because it is the only camp to be placed on a boundary, the southern border of the Kruger National Park. Malelane camp has the added benefit of being a very small camp, with fewer guests than found in the main camps, adding to a more intimate bush experience. Conveniently placed close to the Malelane Entrance Gate, the small town of Malelane and the N4 / Maputo Corridor, it offers classic Kruger self catering accommodation and camping facilities. ... more   less
