We went camping from the 17th to the 21st of March. We have to applaud the manager of this camp. the staff were friendly and motivated. Everything was wonderful. Keep up the good work. we will definitely visit your camp site again.

Please read my reviews on Orpen Camp and Mopani Camp as the comments on the shop and FNB facilities are the same. Shingwedzi is a better option. The Tindlovu restaurant was the best we had been to for service and food quality, the views from the restaurant were ok. The rooms were bigger than Orpen and Mopani and more renovation...

For what we paid, and in the environment we were situated in, Shingwedzi offers excellent value for money - the only down side (for which we deduct one star, is the outlook from the bungalow - looking out over a patch of land without a blade of grass and lots of construction work plastic screening lying around...the bungalow is well...

Great place. North part of Kruger is always less crowded but honestly, I have no idea why is that so. I have been travelling to the north for second time, and both visits were really nice and game viewing was on par with famous south. On a plus side, there is a very nice pool in Shingwedzi, which also offers...

Shingwedzi is super, great modern accommodation with more space than other camps. Excellent pool and restaurant. There is a great deck on the river if you want to use it. This was some of the best game viewing we had and beautiful views. A visit to the north is highly recommended. It is not as crowed as the south even...

Our second trip to this campsite, we really love the quiet atmosphere and viewing spots. Staff are friendly and very helpful, the restaurant serves simple but delicious and fresh food. The campsite, braais and ablutions are kept very clean. Very impressed.

I visit the Kruger National Park at least 3 times a year. My last visit to Shingwedzi was in 2012. It was good then and still good now. The staff at reception is friendly and helpful. The accommodation I used was a basic Bungalow with no utensils or kitchen. I frequently camp so I am well enough setup to manage...

This was other fourth stay in Shingwedzi and it was as always a treat. The camp consists of two large circles with the bungalows around it. This creates space and a special atmosphere. Shingwedzi does not have the river view of Letaba or the panorama of Olifants but compared to these restcamps we definitively we feel in Shingwedzi more "at...

The chalet was neat, clean and well equipped. The linen and equipment in the chalet were in good condition. The staff, from reception to restaurant, shop to chalet cleaning staff were good, helpful and efficient. Certainly one of the nicest camps in the Kruger.

The excursions from this camp always produce outstanding sightings. The roads are quieter than in the south and therefor result in less traffic congestion at sightings. The camp itself is well maintained and the chalets equally well equipped. The night sky is really something to behold.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Shingwedzi lies in the northern part of the Kruger National Park in the heart of Mopane country. A scenic game drive along the Shingwedzi River in a southeasterly direction towards the Kanniedood Dam is one of the most rewarding drives in the Park. Waterbuck, nyala, kudu and elephant are often seen here and the bird life is prolific. Staying overnight at Shingwedzi is an experience that will last a lifetime. It is a rustic camp that still carries the essence of the bush and is untouched by modern technology. Experience magical evenings where the accommodation is arranged in two separate circles and the glow emanating from braai (barbecue) stands cast a tranquil spell. ... more   less
