Although we have stayed in Letaba Camp many times it has always been in a two bedroom chalet. This was our first time in a single room. These rooms are very small, not at all comfortable. When you are in bed the air conditioner blows straight into your face and cannot be adjusted. The kitchen equipment was short of quite...

We really enjoyed our three nights in Letaba. Compared to Satara and Skukuza, it could do with an update but the setting is awesome. Buck roam the camp but watch out for the monkeys!! Try and get a perimeter bungalow.

Comfortable thatched huts with good facilities for self catering. Simple but had everything you needed. Close to river with good views of wildlife. Mugg and Bean restaurant for varied and affordable menu. Shop had basic food and alcohol to purchase. Nice pool. Offered range of guided tours to see African animals. Would definitely go back.

The first surprise was receiving an email from reception some 3 weeks prior to arrival welcoming me and offering any assistance needed. I nominated a specific bungalow G96 which was, as with all accommodation during 14 nights in the KNP, clean with fresh linen and towels. The reception very efficient, and booking in process was seamless. All staff encountered made...

We made a stop-over in Letaba rest camp while making a self-drive in the Kruger park. We used the opportunity to have lunch, but at the same time we visited the elephant museum on site. It houses the tusks and pictures of the magnificent 7 and it also displays general info about elephants. Also the 2 skulls were one is...

First visited here 16 years ago and it didn't live up to our memories. This time we stayed in a 1 bed rondavel, clean, basic, with shower and outside bathroom. It all looks v tired and in need a make over. They are having problems with monkeys so we had to be obsessive re keeping everything shut including locking the...

Wild life can be experianced on site and just around the corner. This is really great. Unfortunatelly our post cards where mailed...

This camp is on the banks of the Letaba River. There is good game viewing in the vicinity and it is known as a site for big cats and elephant. All of the huts are in easy walking distance of the river and the restaurant. The huts are small but are equipped with a kettle and enough power points to...

The park is nice. But the bungalows aren't very special. We had a good night rest and did some nice braai. But it's not very good value for money. But you know that. Staying in Kruger does not offer very good value for money. But the location is off course amazing. There was great riverview from the restaurant and some...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means "river of sand", and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent. ... more   less
