At the time we were at 'fairy knowe' it rained all day and night so we decided to stay only one night. If you have more time make sure to stay longer. The owner is the most welcoming person i met in South africa. Always friendly to his customer and staff. They offer tours and other activities. Dorm rooms are...

We stayed in Sedgefield for two nights in our little roadtrip up to Addo Elephant Park and wanted something fun to do. So we asked at fairy knows backpackers and decided to rent a canoe and paddle up the river and walk to the waterfall. We had an incredible time and the service was wonderful!

The staff were really friendly and really knowledgeable about the area. They pointed us in the right direction when trying to find cool stuff to do. By the time it came to leave we did not want to go. Awesome place. I would recommend it to anyone passing through wilderness.

My friend and I stayed here along our road trip travels. We were greeted and explained the surroundings and all the activities we could do in the area. Our room was pleasant but nothing spectacular: loads of cobwebs on the roof and the shower drain was totally blocked with weeks worth of hair! The owner does a daily beach, railway...

We stayed here and felt like we were joining a family. The team that run this place were so welcoming and we sat around a big table and all had dinner together every night. Digby (who runs the place) was really welcoming. We ended up visiting a man that lives in the caves on a hike with the team, doing...

We loved this backpackers, the guy who owned it was absolutely lovely, helpful & very friendly. He even drives his guests to and from to the town free of charge which is very kind! The rooms feel just like home the beds are really comfy and the pillows are duck feather which is a lovely little luxury when travelling! The...

After waiting 10 minutes at the bar for the barman to even glance in direction, we were issued a crude greeting and our drink orders were taken. The barman gave us our drinks, after both underpouring and then taking a sip directly from our glasses. He then slammed our change on the counter so hard that our coins disapeared into...

We stayed here for 2 nights in a 6-bed dorm room. The location of the hostel is lovely although it is a 25/30min walk to the village which didn't bother us really. The hostel itself is ok, our dorm room was up in the big house and had plenty of character but just felt run down overall, could definitely do...

This was my first backpackers.. camped. Was great - the bathrooms are clean, or cleaning aids close by; kitchen was well equipped. People very friendly and a great vibe. The campsites are just quite far from the kitchen and bathrooms and have no taps close by so will recommend cottages if you plan to spend some time at the site....

What a great staff. The owner was able to tell us everything we wanted to know. He really helped us plan our paragliding adventure. The breakfast was really good and you can also prepare your own meal since there's a communal kitchen. We had an ensuite cabin with an amazing shower and enough space. We felt at home straight away....
