Zulu Nyala Heritage Lodge offers a bucket list overflowing with picturisque charm.Nestled in breathtaking natural surroundings, leading to the Game Reserve that dissapoints none.We were fortunate to view all of the Big 4.A destination that requires sufficient time to absorb rare views & unique opportunities.A definitely highly recommended destination.

An abundance on Zulu traditional lifestyle. Luxurious accomodation & wide varieties of delicious meals.Guests were treated to entertaiment of Zulu traditional dances clad in Zulu costumes with Zulu instruments. The Game drive & viewing of the Big 4,with the exception of the Lion.Sighting of the cheetah is deemed rare but we were fortunate to this sight. All animals were plentiful ,even...

Some of the rooms are more spacious than others... if you're not happy with the assigned 'standard room', you have the option to upgrade or move rooms, and if space if available, the staff will do what they can to accommodate. We stayed in Rm. 10 - it had a great view and close to the pool. The shower head...

What a fantastic experience!! Everything and everyone were awesome. Our guide Bernie aka "danga ranga " is the best. So very knowledgeable & such fun. Always aware of how each person could get the best photo, even used her lens on my camera to get a great close up of cheetah with its kill. Meals served buffet style, plenty of...

My daughter and I went to Zulu safari. Firstly, if you do end up there , stay at the Game Lodge( on the Reserve) rather then the Heritage . Although, it was off the beaten track, it did have a vista. This place is a big zoo. There is no "search" for animals. You get on the jeep at the...

Packed with tour buses & tame wildlife roaming around with lethargic crocodiles in an enclosure...???!!!! Really!??? Great staff but dont bother otherwise. Ive no idea how they do their advertising & get away with what they deliver - its ridiculous.

We stayed for 3 nights on an introductory discount voucher which made it affordable. We were disappointed that the distance between the car park and our room was 280 metres, which is hard going with a bundle of luggage for an extended holiday and a wife with a moon boot thanks to an ankle sprain. It is very comfortable and...

We bought the trip at a charity auction like everyone else. We had an absolutely fabulous time. Our driver for our twice daily safaris was Sandiso and he was so interesting, friendly. and knowledgeable.Seeing the animals up close was amazing. Our room was nice and clean, had a coffee maker, and was supplied with bottled water. All meals were buffet...

The Zulu Nyala Property, safari and overall staff is excellent. The staff really made the trip great especially our safari guide Musa! He was such an expert and provided great information, but you could tell how caring he is of all the animals. He respects them and gave us so many wonderful memories. I can not say enough about how...

We stayed 3 nights in the Heritage Safari tents and 3 nights at the Game Lodge and highly recommend staying at both for two different experiences while enjoying the exciting game reserve experience. The tents made us feel like we were really camping in the great outdoors though the interiors were large, and comfortable, with all modern amenities of a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Heritage Safari Lodge was originally built in the 1940’s as a hotel and was a landmark pit-stop for weary travelers between Maputo and Durban. Acquired in 1996, the gracious building was lovingly restored to its original colonial grandeur, enhanced with new accommodation, and tastefully themed to highlight Zululand’s unique cultural heritage. With buffet-style meals in our restaurant, the wide, welcoming veranda and our ‘human watering hole’ - the pub or thatched boma, warm and relaxing atmosphere is conducive to shared good times and conviviality. The sparkling pool is always inviting, and you’re sure to enjoy browsing our beautifully stocked curio shop for a few authentic African mementos. ... more   less
