Spent the whole week there and it was just ok. The family room is huge with lots of space. Not so sure about the breakfast, there isn't a lot of variety and especially the lack of bacon. Just cross the road to the beach and kids fun zone. Their dinner has great food in fact everything on that menu is...

I love the old world charm of this hotel. The rooms are like walking back in time. Creaky floor boards and pictures throughout of Durban from yesteryear. The breakfast was great. I will most certainly return

Stayed at the Balmoral for one night during a guided SA tour. It is not my taste and I guess I would have not chosen this hotel if we were on our own but it was pre-booked. The hotel is located at the waterfront but they told us that we should not walk around after sunset. There were some pretty...

Lovely old-world style hotel, renovated but keeping the charm of years gone by. Made a welcome change from the standard format of most other hotels in the surroundings. Our room was well-appointed, the bathroom spacious enough (no plumbing noises to be heard from the other rooms). There is a nice terrace on which to have sundowners on balmy evenings, or...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and did not have one peaceful night's sleep. We slept in three different rooms during our stay there in order to get away from excessive noise in the hotel itself. The hotel thought it a good idea to book an entire school soccer team in the hotel. The boys were noisy and...

This is a mediocre hotel. The room itself is big while the bathroom is very small. You can't hide that the rooms are old and they need to be refurbished. Broken electrical wires can been seen several places. The breakfast was fine. The Internet connection is BAD and if you are lucky to get connected, it is weary slow. Mediocre.

I was mugged by 3 knife wielding thugs a few meters in from the corner of the Hotel - probably no more than about 20 m from the front entrance. This took place at approx 7 pm on Sat 25 June. My phone was stolen. There was only one guard outside the hotel who claimed not to see the incident....
