Please let me break this up a couple ways: 1. When initially booked into this hotel. I thought OK, it's airport close into the midst of a residential neighborhood. Please DO NOT let that put you off this gem. 2. The place is "Beautiful".. with every small detail well thought out. Even to the sink in the restaurant bathroom.. genius,...

This is a very intimate and attractive little boutique hotel with an emphasis on dining. I have used this establishment a few times whilst transiting through Johannesburg airport (Oliver Tambo International) and have thoroughly enjoyed each stay in particular the ambiance and dining experience. The establishment is situated within a gated residential type of complex which really limits one to...

Stayed here for one night between flights. Greeted and picked up from the airport and taken to the Hotel. It may only be small but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in comfort. Set in a quiet lovely leafy area with excellent security. The pleasant room with everything you would need backs onto the lovely...

We stayed here the first night on our two week Africa trip. We were met at the airport right outside the international arrival gate. The hotel is about 15 mins from the airport but with the included pick up and drop off it makes it a great choice. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean and modern. We ate...

We booked a night in Joburg to connect flights and we discovered this little charming place by chance. Nice attentive staff on a super small house in a quiet environment 10mins drive from the airport. Great ethnical decoration with taste. Food is great and Chef is to fall in love with. My personal suggestion though would be to run away...

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to write a review and your suggestions which I will discuss with the chef. Sometimes, for special occasions, we even offer an eight course "Tasting" dinner, :), which includes palette cleansers plus wine pairing per course. it is a relaxed dinning experience in a casual and comfortable atmosphere, definitely not "Black Tie"....

This hotel is about 9 rooms. The rooms are spacious and very lovely. They have a small restaurant to accommodate the patrons. The chef is amazing and the food was delicious. The outside area with pool is a great place to relax.

We've now stayed at the African Rock 5 times over the past 3 years and each visit has been outstanding. It's a nice feeling when Calvin greets you in the airport terminal and welcomes you back and carries your bags to the sptless clean limo-van.
