The magic begins the minute you set foot in this beautiful mansion. As the most unique five star, boutique hotel in Johannesburg, "The View", is aptly named due to the panoramic vista it provides of the city. Its location provides a tranquil oasis amidst the bustle of greater Johannesburg. A gem to the core, by night The View allows for fine, alfresco dining in its restaurant overlooking the millions of sparkling lights reflecting the vibrant life of Africa's industrial and commercial capital. Additionally, guests to The View can luxuriate in our extensive and immaculately groomed, private terraced gardens. With soft lighting completing their beauty, the gardens come alive on summer nights with live orchestral music and song.

This is a lovely place with a magnificent view, warm, friendly staff and a wonderful spacious and comfortable room. Every small detail was taken care of. The stay was EXCELLENT and I would recommend it to everyone!!! Furthermore, the food was exceptional and the service perfect! I must commend the staff for being really extremely professional and handling us like royalty! From the minute we walked in the Hotel up to being seen off at the end of our stay, we felt welcome and taken care of. I wish I could have stayed longer!

The hotel is more like a very big house of Afrikaaners style, very elegant outside and in, the furniture is nice and match perfectly the house, the garden is exceptional, very largee and neatly trimed. Our room was large and cosy, the food is excelent and the wine is good. The staff is polite, helpful and not overfriendly. The surrounding is quite and seems peaceful. For me a very good address, I did stay the with my wife and my grand son for only 24 hours but we will gladly come back to this secluded place.a true boutique hotel.

We stayed there twice within 10 days. First we stayed for three days in the Harrison suite and then one day in the Jeppe suite.
The hotel has only 6 suites and is a bit away from the center of Joburg. It's a historic place, so it's an old building renoveted with respect.
There is a reason whi it's called the view and from the terrasse there is the most fantastic view over the garden to Joburg.
The staff are so nice, serviceminded and always smiling. And they have a cook/chef who makes the most delicious food. There is a printet menu for breakfast, but for lunch and dinner, she just tell you what options you have and ask what you want and when.
They stored our luggage while we were on safari and it was already in our room, when we returned.
They help arranging safe tours around in Joburg and we were so satisfied with our guide - Treasure - that also used his service to bring and pick us up from the airport when we returned from safari.

I recommend that guests think twice before trying to book to stay in this hotel online, I have done this twice via Tripadvisor/Agoda only to find out at arrival that there are no rooms available - so then why is the hotel signed up for such online booking services when they do not apparently know how to communicate well with these systems to inform there is not availability? It was very frustrating indeed and despite my long conversation with the hotel management, they seem a bit lost in translation on the topic. This hotel is crossed out of my list for good.

When my friend & I checked in to The View hotel we were both in need of rest & refreshment. The weekend did just that - the atmosphere at the hotel was relaxed and friendly, the food delicious, the beds comfortable, the service superb, the lounges were inviting and quiet, the view over the city stunning, the spa treatment restorative, and the company - well you have to take your own friend there! I thoroughly recommend The View Boutique Hotel to anyone needing a weekend off from the treadmill of normal city life.

I stayed in the hotel with my girlfriend and we had an excelent time! The staff was very kind and helpful in every situation that we need.
The garden was beautiful and is great for a stroll or just relax at the sun.
The hotel is quiet and clean and very well decorated.
On our second day there we took a double massage session and that was absolutely fantastic!
For sure in my next visit to Jnb I will love to stay there again and definitely i will ask for the benedict eggs for breakfast.
Thanks

Beautiful historical building. Looks like a Herbert Baker design. Magnificent garden and views. Room was comfortable and well laid out with everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious. A beautiful quiet setting in the city, away from the hustle and bustle, yet close to the motorway. Very friendly staff.

Small hotel ina suburb of Johannesburg. Rooms are well equipped and spacious. The staff are friendly and the food lovely. This hotel is definite a good alternative to the major large brand hotels in Johannesburg. Enjoyed our stay and can definitely recommend this small boutique hotel with the loveky view over the area.

We had our wedding at The View. A small classy wedding with our closest friends and family. We knew this is where we wanted to get married when we saw the place the first time. We consulted with the manager Amanda and from the start she took control and noted all our requirements. On the day of the wedding Amanda and her staff made every dream and vision of our wedding a reality. The wedding was picture perfect. From the ceremony outside on the patio to the reception in this breathtaking hotel. Our guests are still talking about the 5star food that was served at the reception. As newly weds we could just sit back and enjoy our special night. All our guests were treated as 5star VIP's the entire evening. What made this more special is that this was a same sex marriage. Well done to Amanda and her team for making this an unforgettable wedding for us and all our guests. We will never forget our special day. If you are looking for a Hotel for your special day. I highly recommend The View Boutique Hotel.
