The guest house is in Melville, s Johannesburg nearby suburb, with lots of restaurants with a couple blocks. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is good, staff is wonderful. While it's not right downtown, it's a great neighborhood and the greater city is very accessible.

Staff were very accommodating as I arrived in the middle of the night. It was clean and they were very helpful finding a tour guide and transportation. It's also a short walk to shops, bars, restaurants, vintage clothing and more.I recamend Melville Manor.

...really. Nothing to complain about if you stay only for a short period. Breakfast contains some homemade jams and only toasts and some eggs... nothing spectacular. The bed was ok but the bathroom was a little, let's say, old? Some black must at the silicon rubber but also that's usual after a while if it isn't cleaned and dried properly....

melville is a nice place, safe and not too far from the city center; the venue is nice, rooms are well equipped, the breakfast is good, the staff will help you to find a transfer to/from the airport or the museum and the 7th street with nice restaurants is at a short walking distance.

We had never been in Johannesburg before, and so chose Melville Manor because of its location. Good choice - it is only a minute's walk from the restaurants and bars of 7th Street in Melville, but offers a lovely green garden and birdsong in the morning. The area is very safe, and the offer convenient airport transfer through a very...

I was one of 8 squash players at world masters' squash, staying at Melville Manor. From the moment we were welcomed by Anna, we were treated extremely well and with courtesy. The rooms were adequate and clean. The food was varied, delicious, and plentiful. Any requests were attended to promptly and happily. The gardens although not large were neat tidy...

Our stay was all too brief, but we found this to be a very comfortable and quiet place to stay. We were promptly picked up at the airport even though our flight was delayed twice. Although it was uncharacteristically chilly during our quick stay, we were warm and cozy in our room. And the made-to-order breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.
