We arrived at Reed Valley Inn and were immediately offered an upgrade for £25ish per person, we felt a little bit pushed into it, but actually it was totally the right decision to make the move up to Bush Lodge. It’s not that Bush Lodge is better accommodation (its 5* but Reed Valley looked just as lovely as we walked...

Me and my girl-friend booked 4 nights at the Reed Valley Inn. As we were the only guests during our stay we were very fortunate and were upgraded for a small additional fee to stay at the Bush Lodge. We stayed at the safari lodge which is absolutely gorgeous - luxury accomodation with lovely touches like sparkling wine on ice by the bath every evening and chocolates and bedtime stories on your pillow after dinner. The cottages were lovely with outside shower and private terrace and plunge pool where you can sit and watch giraffe, zebras, monkeys etc drink...

This was an exquisite lodge with opulent rooms, stunning layout, fireplace, gorgeous bath tub in the room, top quality service, a chef who has produced Michelin quality menus with steak...

We are more than happy with our experience at the Amakhala Safari Lodge. The site on 8000 hectares of land is magnificent, the scenery while on the two game rides a day is absolutely stunning. Our suite was like a small cottage, cozy with all ameneties, well decorated and we felt like we were very private and safe. The lodge...

I stayed with my elderly mother and friend at the Safari Lodge for two nights. The service was excellent and everyone went out of there way to be helpful and friendly. Although the animals are not that many as at game farms in the northern part of the country, it is the total experience that counts. The attention to detail...

When we arrived at Amakhala, we received a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff. We were also fortunate to go at the end of the season during a weekday which meant that we had the whole place to ourselves, and a private tour with our new starter ranger Mike who did a fantastic job of taking care of...

Wanted to go to a reserve in the Eastern Cape and the Woodbury Lodge at Amakhala was suggested. Wow, what a great location, great food and friendly staff. The knowledge of our ranger, Matt, was superb and we learnt so much. Even the encounter with the elephant up close was amazing and searching for the lions was so much fun....
