My wife and I wanted to get away from the Phoenix area and never went to Greer and when I found the Redsetter Cabins it looked to good to be true, but it wasn't. We went the beginning of November and it was a great find. The cabin we stayed at was called the Haven Loft and it is a... More

This is a great place to have a family get together. We were there in June and the weather was great considering that we came from the desert. There are, I believe, 9 rooms to rent, and we had to pay for at least 4 to have exclusive use. It is not cheap, but is acceptable. I was told that... More

We thank you for your positive comments and are pleased to read that you and your family had an enjoyable stay. The Red Setter Inn was a highly regarded bed and breakfast until it was sold in 2007. From that date forward it was no longer a bed and breakfast. We purchased the property in June 2013 and embarked on... More

We stayed in the River Haven cabin next to the Little Colorado and were lulled to sleep by its sounds. The room was very clean but you can see some things are not being taken care of..handles off beside tables, one broken blind, furniture needs oiling, the tiles in the bathroom are starting to need a little attention. I can... More

First let me thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are always looking to improve and it takes guest feedback. Since your stay in Oct. 2015, we believe we have addressed your comments regarding River Haven, but we will circle back to double check. Renovation is an ongoing effort and we hope that you will continue... More

My parents booked this lodge to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. This was the perfect place to house our extended family of 21 people. There was the perfect number of bedrooms for the adults & their spouses. All the kids stayed in the basement. We had to sleep a few of the kids on the floor on mattresses, but it... More

We ate at a nearby restaurant and inquired about this place. The desk attendant said it is formerly the Red Setter but is now available only for weddings and other events. I don't know about the cabins mentioned below. Molly Butler Lodge is down the street so if that's the case, inquiries could be made there. It is a beautiful... More

Thank you for commenting about the beauty of our property. We agree but then again, we are biased. We purchased the property in June 2013 and have been renovating since. The Red Setter is independently owned. The property manager is Greer Cabin Keepers, which is owned by the individual that previously owned Molly Butler Lodge. The property is comprised of... More

The Red Setter is now managed by Molly Butler Lodges. We stayed in one of the three cabins across the Little Colorado and were thoroughly pleased. Very clean, and everything functioned. The gas fireplace blazed while the sound of the river lulled us to sleep. The loft was furnished with a bed but beware, the pull out stairs are more... More

Thank you for such a positive review, we are pleased that you enjoyed our property. We agree with your comments regarding the loft. It is best suited for teenagers, and we do have a minimum age restriction for its use. We purchased the property in June 2013, so you must have been one of our first guests. The property has... I just called to inquire about a stay at the Red Setter later this year only to find out they'll be closing their doors due to foreclosure in just a couple days. Apparently the Greer Lodge owners have given up on the Red Setter Inn. You no longer can book single rooms at the Red Setter, it is ONLY available by booking the entire place as one big cabin! That is a real shame since once upon a time it was a truly great place to stay. But once it was sold... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Perhaps you have heard of Greer, Arizona, located at the end of the Road to Nowhere. Surrounded by the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, there is one road in and one road out. Meadows, Ponderosa pines, aspens, hiking trails, lakes and the Little Colorado River grace the Village with beauty. Located at the end of the road, you will find the Red Setter, Arizona's Riverside Retreat where the river meanders through the approximate 4-acre grounds, giant ponderosas abound and wildlife freely come and go. The Red Setter is under new ownership and we have selected Greer Cabin Keepers to manage this very special property. The Red Setter offers a 9 bedroom lodge and 4 detached cabins. The approximate 8,000 square foot lodge is a perfect setting for corporate events, weddings, church retreats, reunions and group outings. Each bedroom has a private bath (some with jetted tubs), several have fireplaces and some rooms have a private porch to enjoy the views and fresh air. A 75-inch HD television (with HDMI capabilities for all of your computer and presentation needs) and blu-ray DVD player are located in the living room. The lodge is equipped with a full kitchen, several tables for dining and/or meetings, a game room (with 65-inch HD television and blu-ray DVD player), and den/library. Also included are DirecTV and password secured Wi-Fi. Two large outdoor decks provide the perfect atmosphere for the soothing sound of the river in a picture perfect setting! Plentiful outdoor furniture are spread throughout the grounds, mainly along the river. The four separate cabins also sit along the river. Choose from the 2 bedroom (2 baths), the large 4 bedroom (3.5 baths) or one of the 1 bedroom (1 bath plus laddered loft) cabins. Each has its own kitchen, fireplace(s) and deck(s). Pull-out sofas sleepers allow for extra sleeping accommodations. Other amenities include barbeque grills, 46-inch HD televisions, blu-ray DVD players, Directv, password secured Wi-Fi and in some cases, jetted tubs. As the new owners of the Red Setter, we have been working hard restoring the grounds, updating cabins and adding amenities to be sure your stay is memorable and serene. Three fire pits, two horseshoe pits, picnic tables, relaxing swings and chairs along the river are just some of the recent upgrades. We hope the memories of fishing, playing, relaxing and pure serenity will last you a lifetime! ... more   less
