Pulled into Whittier on the Alaskan Railroad. It was dreary, rainy and cold in July. We could see the Whittier Inn off in the distance. Only thing missing was thunder and lightning flashes to make it a perfect Stephen King setting. Looked old and maybe haunted. Then we got inside; what a delight! It's actually fairly new. The rooms are...

Stayed here with my cousin in June 2016, we had a Prince-William-Sound day-cruise booked for the next way. Sadly the weather had other plans and it was raining so hard that day that the tour operator cancelled our trip. The hotel is nice, our room was relatively small but clean and had all necessary amenities. Reception and restaurant staff are...

This place is the best bar, restaurant, and lodging in Whittier. Considering there are so very few options, you may think that an overstatement. Gorgeous views. Our bartender Carrie was very friendly and gave us many tips on where to go and what to do in and around Whittier.

Best place in town to stay, right on the harbor, two blocks from where the cruise ships dock, and an easy walk to shopping (although limited) and restaurants. Quaint hotel, great service, helpful staff, and nice, large rooms. We had a room overlooking the harbor and were delighted by the constant boat traffic and even had a sea otter play...

If you happen to find your self in the town of Whittier Alaska, this is the place to stay. We arrived there after a cruise and walked the short walk (with lots of luggage) from the dock to the hotel. We saw 2 other couples who pre-hired a shuttle, but that's not really necessary (2 block walk). We were there...

Went as a family, we seemed to have missed the season as everything was closed except the inn. The inn was beautiful and had a cute quaint pub inside. The drinks were great, service was excellent and the views were breath taking.

My husband and I wanted to check out the longest tunnel in North America, at the end of which we found this amazing inn. Very comfortable rooms, great food in the dining room, and excellent staff. We're sorry we didn't have time to stay longer. I could have sat in the window for days looking out onto Prince William Sound....

If you want to stay in Whittier this hotel is your only option. It is conveniently situated if you want to go on the Prince William Sound cruise the next morning. Even though the hotel was our only option in the sleepy town, it had a cozy lobby with very comfortable couches and interesting books to read! The receptionist was...

There are not many options for staying overnight in Whittier--three that I know of--and this is the place to stay if you want halfway decent hotel-type accommodation. All their Jacuzzi rooms were booked for the Labor Day weekend, so we had the queen "mountain view" (overlooking the main road, parking lot, and railroad yard) for our first night and the...
