The view of Robe Lake from the common room of the lodge is incredible. Loved looking out the big windows while having a fine continental breakfast. Other aspects were not as good. Arrived for self check-in to find the front door locked and no lights on. After prowling around, we found an unlocked side door and let ourselves in. We... More

A few things we didn't know/expect: - bathrooms are shared - rooms are on the small side with very little space to store/put things - rooms do not lock - self check in The continental breakfast was reasonable. The view of the Robe Lake from the lodge is beautiful and we enjoyed the hot tub after a day of kayaking... More

We did a last-minute search for lodging in the Valdez area and happened upon the Robe Lake Lodge. What a great find this was!! The lake view was spectacular and the lodge was very comfortable and inviting. For the best experience, the upstairs bedrooms (5&6) seem roomier and you have your own separate living room/seating area. The downstairs rooms (1-4)... More

I stayed at Robe Lake Lodge as part of a heliski package run by Tabitha and Josh the owners of the lodge. This was my third year in a row at the lodge in the springtime (the time for heliskiing). I cannot say enough good things about this place: the staff is knowledgable, very friendly, and highly experienced. The food... More

I see very mixed reviews up here, so I felt I needed to leave mine although I am not a frequent Trip Advisor user. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised after staying in rustic cabins for most of our travels in Alaska. We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights and then had to move to a cabin our... More

View was awesome, but no one was there to let us in. Finally discovered that doors are never locked. The housekeeper evidently forgot we were coming, because there were dead flowers on the tables, personal items left out here and there, the so-called continental breakfast consisted of green, moldy bagels on the counter, and the trash was full and stinky.... Robe Lake is about six miles into town just north of Valdez. The lake is quite off from the main road, but it was designated. There were city workers with bulldozer repairing the road, so we can't get any closer to the lake. We have to leave our car on the sideway and walk to the lake There is a... More

I reserved a room at the lodge and arrived late, around 7pm. The lodge is actually the home of the owners who move out during the season and stay in a very small house behind the lodge. As the lodge is filled with their personal effects and is obviously used by them during the day, this accommodation is actually not... More

It's hard to not come off cheesy when describing my stay at Robe Lake Lodge. It has picturesque views, a rustic attitude, an exactly perfect location when it comes to convenience in and out of Port Valdez Harbor/Valdez Airport, and a dining experience to make anyone's taste buds do backflips. The part I don't think you will typically find in... More
