1st time visiting Solymar hotel also known as Resta Reef before.. It was a stellar experience, Beautiful place and very professional & helpful staff. The hotel is huge with all the facilities you could wish for (Wide beach with a very nice coral reef, 3 pools, kids area, small gym, table tennis , 2 billiards & darts, morning Yoga sessions) so it keeps you busy all day Our room was always clean thanks to the house keeping team they kept it spotless every day. Food & beverage service was one of the best Ive experienced in any hotel in Egypt, Very helpful and caring and made sure all our meals were pre-planned and on time even when I went for a dive at 5 AM in the morning they prepared a fresh lunch box for the dive wow. Special thanks to Mr.Atef at the reception and Mr.Ashraf at the restaurant for the great hospitality we really enjoyed our time : ))…

We stayed Solymar i October 2020 in Marsa Alam and it one of the best experiences for me and my friends. The hotel rooms are very clean and the service was above our expectations. The beach is amazing with some beautiful corals and colorful fish. The restaurant service was one of the beast, they were very caring, they even made us snacks when we were out of the hotel for diving. I highly recommend it as you get very high value for money. Mr Ashraf and Mr Attef the restaurant and the reception managers are the best.

It was beautiful holiday here, just had 1 prob with water pipe bursting in hotel room, the hotel staff were fab it's tui rep we had prob with, the activities pool could had bit of an tidy up as tiles weren't on. Entertainment could have better aswell as food choices. The staff were great thou n teach me some Arabic which was lovely, the room was again clean n tidy. View from room again was lovely, enough sunbeds so no 1 was fighting to get best 1.on our night before we due to leave we discover the hotel path took us to the bay where we caught the beautiful sunset. We're booked to come back in September 2020 but had to cancel due to coronvid 19 we changed booking to next Sept 21.i love Egypt and there people who are so kind, helpful n there culture I love aswell

There is something on site when we were there near the kids play area but didn't seem to be open but there wasn't a lot of children in the resort in March

Not walk but a 5 min taxi to port ghalib where there are loads of restaurants and shops .

It’s a very different hotel to the lamaya. You can use the water park but you have to pay. You can only use pools etc at other RIU hotels. The walk around the bay is very pleasant, we did it most days. The Suneo is round the corner and not in the main bay and is a bit less sheltered if it’s windy. We went in January and there were days when the red flag was up at the Suneo but not in the bay.

We went in January but our friends were there for Christmas and new year they loved it and want to go again this year. It was hosted in the sister hotel next door.They said the choice of food and entertainment was amazing. I remember them talking about the area being draped and lights and only said positive things about the Gala evenings.

Which is perfect for snorkeling and definitely you will be in need for beach shoes.
As well its very important to know that in some Windy days we are obligated to close the hotel jetty for safety of our guest.
