This is a German hotel, managed by a German and frequented by Germans, we were the only Brits there! The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English. When there was a problem it was dealt with immediately and efficiently. The hotel rooms are stone huts which made them warm as the evenings were chilly. They were clean and comfortable although my shower was not great - no power. My room was at the top of a hill which meant quite a climb up and down stone steps - not great for old knees! Food in the restaurant was adequate. This is a dedicated diving hotel and the dive centre appeared to be very efficient and well equipped. You cannot swim from the beach as it is a coral reef and protected. The pool, in February was too cold for us to swim in. No televisions and only wifi in public areas - made for a very quiet, relaxing stay. Yoga was brilliant and run in English and German. We had a very pleasant few days here and came back feeling relaxed and refreshed.

I booked a four night stay at this ‘dive hotel’ with the specific purpose of diving for the first time in over 30 years. It was half term and I wanted somewhere quiet and peaceful where myself and a friend could unwind and relax - her by the pool and me diving. The hotel is built in the Nubian style with individual chalets/bungalows reached up long flights of stone steps. My room was at the very top of one set of steps whilst my companion’s room was at the very top of a set of parallel steps. I had the most glorious sea view from a large terrace. The room was fine, comfy bed and large bathroom and spotlessly clean. No amenities other than a very noisy fridge and air con. This suited me as I wanted to be away from the hubbub of Cairo. The drawbacks were that at night the steps were difficult to negotiate as although lit by small lights there was nothing to designate the edge of the step. This would be hopeless for an elderly person. The pool was freezing and the sun beds very uncomfortable with no poolside service, although there was a pool bar but it was closed. The one big negative was the food which was average at best. Lunchtime snacks were limited and the evening buffet rather boring - I had chicken every night. However the staff were friendly and attentive and looked after us well. I did like the fact you could squeeze your own orange juice for breakfast and they offered freshly cooked egg dishes and pancakes. But I had expected better. There was no real bar and no cocktails or nibbles available which was a disappointment. However it was a beautiful spot and I certainly came away feeling refreshed and relaxed. One must remember though that this is a German hotel with a German manager and it was full of German guests. We were the only British people. That felt a little strange. My friend enjoyed the yoga sessions and I had a great diving experience. The diving centre was well managed and gave a great professional service.

The stay was ok overall. They try their best but, well, there is quite some room for improvement. I came - and will come back one day - because of the fantastic dive center! The hotel has a lot of potential but it lacks care. It felt like they put the place there many years ago, and that’s it. The bungalows (at least the medium range ones) are outdated in all aspects, starting with the entrance door, over bathroom, beds (incl. uncomfortable, very simple pillow and old bedsheets (pilling)) etc.) The area has a great “basis”, it could be such a great place but it sort of lacks an eye for style and detail. There are bar places but nobody is serving; the sun chairs and wind shades by the pool are by far outdated and outworn. At the restaurants most of the staff is very friendly and tries their best. And the food is OK...pricing is very reasonable at least. And yeah the WiFi, consider digital Detox or use Mobile data. But it was a very relaxing, quiet and peaceful stay! And the Yoga place is lovely... If I come back I would stay at the highest category of bungalows.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The positives are that this is fantastic place to relax. The accommodation was clean and functional. Decent power to the shower which was nice. The people are all amazing, very friendly, professional and obviously wanting you to enjoy your stay. There are showers at the dive centre and plenty of room to wash, hang and store dive kit. There was a good choice and quality of food. The negatives are small. The room we had was nothing like the ones in the advertised pictures which I assume must be the superior rooms, however as previously mentioned it was very clean and functional. The only other down side was that there is quite a walk from the dive centre to the reef. I am in my 60th year and this was a bit of a struggle for me, but if you're young and fit it's not a problem, and your tanks are carried to and from the jetty for you. Having said that, we really enjoyed our stay here, the dives were lovely with water temperature a very cosy 26 degrees in November!

Es gibt leider nur an der Rezeption WLAN, aber für kurze Abfragen reicht das aus, die meiste Zeit ist man ja mit schnorcheln, tauchen und essen beschäftigt :-)

Hallo A. Scope, vielen Dank für deine Anfrage. Beste Grüße The Oasis
