I have been here for the second time and will continue to come back. Wonderful sea, corals right by the beach. As a bonus turtles. Perfect staff. Rooms are cleaned daily. Tasty food. Diving center at the hotel. The only complaint is the absence of wifi connection. Holiday suitable for lovers of snorkeling and diving.
My family and I spent four wonderful days at Shams Alam Resort. As a whole, the resort is very cheerful with beautiful landscape and architecture that is homogeneous with the surrounding environment. The hotel staff members are very pleasant, and are always ready to help in every possible way. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have been nicely renovated with modern furniture and bathroom accessories. The food is very good regarding variety, taste, and presentation. The beach is very clean with comfortable shades. Snorkeling, SCUBA diving, wind surfing are available through professional personnel. Daily boat trips to nearby islands are available; however the inhouse reef is quite sufficient with beautiful underwater scenery for those who prefer to skip boat trips. The resort's entrance/reception has a very impressive architecture, with the large brick domes that are a signature of the local enironment. However, neither the furniture style nor upholstry are up to the beauty of the architecture. I would highly recommend that the management considers changing it to a style that compliments the architecture.…
Visited in 2016 - ideal place for those seeking tranquility and a beautiful sea, I obtained the SUB patent here and can only say spectacular. Don't expect nightclubs or lively entertainment. Hotel has suffered for the lack of tourists in recent years but as far as I'm concerned the very kind and helpful staff make up for it
-Structure: first impression of the resort is good since the main areas are well kept but it is not the same with the less crowded areas, such as the gym and the game room. Starting from the gym, the few machines that they have are almost all not working and rusty, it would be better to close it instead of keeping a gym that you can’t basically use. The game room is well furnished with 3 pool tables and one ping pong, but there is a lack of hygiene since the floor is very dusty. -Beach: the beach is for sure the best part of the resort, you can find a diving center and a windsurf school -Food: food is nice considering the Egyptian’s economic crisis and the related difficulty to import. Dishes are natural, simple and good, especially the cakes. Moreover the afternoon snack break at the beach bar is poor since they only make pizza with no avaibility of fruit and other different kinds of food. I want to underline the “difficulty” to get a bottle of water, since you can get it only at the restaurant that is not opened all day long. -Pool: the pool is small but you don’t need a bigger one when you have that Sea -Room: there are some pros and cons about the rooms. Pros are that they are quite spacious with a nice patio/balcony. Cons are that the door is quite difficult to open, there’s not a coffe set on the desk, the AC makes a lot of noise where it’s on and matterasses and pillows are a little uncomfortable. In conclusion I would give this resort a 3.7 score that is mainly thanks to its beautiful beach and soureoundings, but I can’t give a 4 as there are things that would really need to be improved.…
We have just returned from 7 nights here ( via Love Holidays), firstly after landing at Marsa Alam airport we had booked a private taxi for the transfer which took around 60 minutes rather than the stated 90 minutes. Apon arrival we were met by the very friendly staff who were very efficient and soon got us to our room, the room itself was comfortable. I would say that it was more of 3 star plus rather than 4 star as it was looking a little tired, but saying this we didnt spend much time in the room so to us it didnt really matter. The first morning we had a great surprise when we opened the curtains and went on to the balcony, the view was amazing! The hotel itself is reasonably small but we felt that this made it better and more personal, the breakfast offered a good choice and decent coffee. I can highly recommend the omelettes and the donuts. The hotel is right on the beach, the house reef is extensive and beautiful as is the main beach which has many turtles feeding in the water all day long and if you are fortunate you can swim with a dugong. The hotels dive centre is manned by very a experienced and knowledgeable team who are very friendly and helpful. We felt that the hotels facilities were in keeping with the 4 star rating, there is no free wifi but this can be purchased for approx $4 for one hours internet. There is wifi available in the reception area and the outside bar but not on the beach or in the room. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and we had a nice walk along the beach into the national park itself. On our first day we snorkelled with Turtles, Rays, Guitar fish, a 1mtr long barracuda and a whole aquarium full of reef fish! If dolphins are your thing then you just have to do the boat trip to the Dolphin House reef, its a truly life changing experience. We are planning to return to the hotel later this year, loved it!!…
