This six bungalow private resort is the only facility on the motu in the Tikehau atoll. The owners have created an incredibly unique setting- this is the most creative and lovely resort I have ever visited and I travel extensively - much in the tropics. Each bungalow is unique. They are all spacious with every detail custom. They used much...

My wife an I spent four nights on Ninamu at the end of September. Simply put, Ninamu is beautiful, fun, relaxing, and unpretentious. As others have said, each bungalow is unique, but each is spacious and comfortable and has a sitting area, bathroom with shower, and a bedroom. Our bedroom was upstairs, and we had a view of the lagoon...

Chris has created a very special place in one of the most beautiful places of earth. Each bungalow is different, designed and build by himself. Food is natural, local, fulfilling and tasty. You can either relax on the beach or go for one of the many activities they will offer you. You will never forget every wake up in this...

I left this place feeling refreshed and relaxed, without a care in the world. The place is what it claims to be, a beautiful eco friendly island which makes you feel like Robinson Crusoe. It is uniquely amazing place. The bungalow we had was the far end one and 10m from the veranda is the beach and the friendly black...

I can not say enough how smart and clever Chris, the owner is. However, I feel so trapped being on such a small atoll for a week. Calling it a resort is a stretch because food is only served three meals a day with small controlled portions. No snacks at all in between meals. The electricity doesn't come on until...

Thank-you for your input. It is always good to hear criticism so we know where to improve. It is true that we are unlike almost any other resort. If you want an insulated, airconditioned big hotel experience, Ninamu is not for you. We cater to people who want to be close to nature in an idyllic isolated paradise. We are...

I am baffled by all the reviews on this place. I went here because of trip advisor and was shocked to feel so differently from everyone else on tripadvisor. I usually love the places that are number one on this site. But unfortunately, I hated this hotel. Mind you, the location is FABULOUS. They have these amazing sand banks that...

My wife and I just returned from a 6 night stay at Ninamu to finish up our honeymoon, we had an unforgettable time!! The island and the experience that Chris has created is truly one-of-a-kind. It is remarkable how such a secluded and remote island has been turned into such a well-run resort that offers a little something for everyone....

I thought I reviewed here when I stayed but reading back through the reviews I somehow missed doing it the 1st time around. At the beginning of May 2014 I flew out here with a friend of mine for a 3 night stay at the beginning of my 2 week French Polynesia trip. After a short ride to port and...

For us, having Chris O'Callaghan as our host made this unique in our travel experience. The bungalows are his works of art and staying in one was, in itself, a rare enjoyment. His inspiring management of the island in accordance with the "permaculture" principles of Bill Mollison added another dimension. But from the vacation standpoint alone it was a winner....
