Planned a stay for 8 days left after 3. The pension do not live up to its promises or price, no hot water, broken toilet, broken sink, no wifi, no bar, no library, broken windows, broken mosquito net, cockroaches in room, bikes are broken, there's no fishing trips, no jetskies, and the owner speaks descent English until the bill was... I really enjoyed this hotel, they tried hard to make my stay the best and they got it, the breakfast in quite nice, but the dinner was superb, if you like to it large quantities of food it is really a little bit on the sort side but, I prefer quality rather than quantity, and their food was tasty and... Good location, simple accomodation, but the owners ( especially the son ) is absolutelly horrible, his wife as well and their children as well. The people here were my worst polynesian expierence. ( BTW they are french, so that makes sense maybe ). I was there in may 2011

Prime spot, bungalows located right on a lovely sandy beach. Nothing fancy, but they are clean and tidy. Despite limited English, one of the female staff went above and beyond to help us book a tour to the bird island - we really appreciated it!! Others have left negative reviews about the food, but I think they're being unnecessarily negative.... More

I stayed in a beachfront bungalow and loved it. There were brand new bikes for going into town (less than 2km away). Hot water! Vanine (owner) graciously accommodated my non-seafood dietary requirement without allowing me to feel as though I had put her out. Kayaks free Bikes free Had a delicious omelette at lunch time. Suggest that you ride into... More

The manager was late to pick us up from the airport. She finally showed up with a filthy flatbed truck!! She didn’t even apologize for being late, and she wasn’t friendly at all. The couple that currently runs the pension are not Polynesian, and are definitely the most unfriendly hosts we came across in over 3 weeks in French Polynesia.... More

The pension is located directly on the beach. The food in the evening is very french, ok for a few days but I have eaten better. Most bungalows are on the beach. It is best to stay there. The staff is very helpfull and friendly.

we stayed in this pension for few days in sept 2014. tikehau is a wonderful place with picturesque nature. despite the beautiful spot, the pension provided poor service. The room won't be cleaned (they provided an old broom on the terrace though), bed sheet and towels wouldn't be changed and the food was so bad. lots of mosquitos and little... More

Like said many times in the reviews, Hotu is definitely in a lovely location, just on a white sand beach surrounded by turquoise water. However, in my opinion the place lacked a bit of the warm and personal hospitality we found in many other places in French Polynesia. About the food; this was the most expensive half-board pension we had,... More

Beautiful setting, with a lovely beach, seats and kayaks. Rooms are nicely done and the central area has sofas and outside seating. We had half board and the food was good and substantial with local fish most nights. You can buy lunch there, good news as not much around! We did a fantastic excursion with them which would be 5*.... More
