I was not at all impressed with Le Maitai Polynesia Bora Bora, there was only 1 of 2 restaurants open with a limited menu, and the food at that restaurant was so bad we only ate 2 dinners there. The breakfast was at best very weak, when we did order from the menu the eggs were like a waterfall and...

-- Accomodations -- My wife and I stayed there for our honeymoon. We stayed in an overwater bungalow, #108 which I highly recommend. It's far from the road so it's very quiet and it's in deeper water (approx. 15 ft.) which you want so you can snorkel or go for a swim right ouside your room. It's better than the...

We had a wonderful time here. We loved the free kayaks - you can paddle across to the motu and the best snorkelling ('the coral garden'), where the tours go to feed the fish so they are very friendly. Avoiding hundreds of bucks for the tours - bonus! Our 'ocean room' had a fantastic view, and was quiet, clean and...

The thing about Bora Bora is that it's full of top dog reosrts which cost an arm and a leg. When you opt for the hotel that you can just about afford in the midst of all that luxury you are going to get what you pay for - and that is some pretty second rate servie, facilities and location....

We recently stayed at the Le Maitai for our honeymoon. Our 1st priority was to stay in an Over the Water Bungalow so I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel. I was somewhat skeptical about the hotel being smaller and not highly rated (3 or 4 stars). Let me just say, we were VERY happy with our choice. We...

Our trip was excellent expect for the part that we stayed in Hotel Maitai Polynesia in Bora Bora. First of all there will be no one to receive us from the hotel at the airport. All other hotels do that. We waited in the airport not knowing where to go until a person told what to do. This is just...

My boyfriend and I just got back from a ten night stay at the Polynesia Hotel Maitai in Bora Bora. We stayed 5 nights in an ocean view room, 2 nights in a beach bungalow, and 3 nights in an over-the-water bungalow. I strongly suggest, if you are going to stay at this hotel, that you stay in either an...

When we got to our room, the smell of Raid was unbearable. Honeymoon a la Raid? All the rooms have been fumigated - we couldn't switch to another room. Later, we overheard a guest at the reception complaining he couldn't take a shower because there was no water in the room. We got a letter in the room stating there...
