Amazing remote cabins, steps from the water and within a local village. As most reviewers have stated, this is a great location to relax, unwind, unplug, and enjoy island life. The cabins are cleaned daily but a bit worn. One advantage for divers, is that the resort is located near a couple of key dive sites where you can see...

Like most, I visited Yap for the chance to dive with mantas. I stayed for a few days in Colonia but was also keen to experience island culture - so I was delighted to spend a few nights at Village View. The location is remote and facilities basic, so don't expect to be pampered. But do expect to sleep beneath...

The direct beach location is great. The owner Al can make great individual snorkeling tours to the Mantarays and other locations. And in the restaurant makes the wonderful cook "Zero" delicious food to your wish. We enjoyed our quiet stay and did not want to leave. Thanks Al.

When you want to stay far from the crowd on a deserted beach you can certainly consider going to this place . It's very basic , but you will have a beach at your doorstep . Al Ganang (the landlord) will take you anywhere on the island or arrange a diving course , swimming with manta's , snorkelling , a...

This hotel is not for everyone. First of all it is located in a small village in the north of the island. Second of all it is very much a local village. I choose it because its proximity to the diving sites which was perfect for me. The beach is beautiful but it you have to walk out awhile in...

You wanna dive or really take a break. Well then this is the place. Very basic but clean and a really good cook @ the restaurant. The dive center looks a little run down, including the guy who runs it. But the dive sites are incredible.

An interesting and pretty place to spend a few days. The sad loss of Yap's heritage to modernity is evident. The 'village' is almost empty of people now, but Al and his brother, the chief are still hanging on to their traditions. Some guests may not appreciate the drunk local men hanging around the hotel's communal areas during the day...

The Village View is a collection of five duplex cottages on the prettiest, most remote beach on Maap Island in Yap State. The cottages are roomy, rustic and right on the beach. They are not fancy, and don't have TVs or phones, but they have power and good water pressure and A/C, which is all you will need. The cottages...

The resort is made up of several small bungalows right on a lovely sandy beach. When you walk out the door you can step onto the beach or step onto a small road facing stunning tropical plantings. If you walk a few minutes down the road you will find the village chief working on building a canoe and passing his...

I had a great time here. Most of the hotels on Yap are in the town, Colonia. However Village View is up north in a village...and right on the beach. The bungalows are showing some wear, but clean. No luxury, but you are sitting on the bungalow balcony about 40 feet from the ocean (closer at high tide). There is...
