I reviewed this motel early in 2014. I said it was avery good, clean, basic motel with friendly owners. The ownership has changed, but nothing else. We stayed here for a night before a cycle trip and for two nights afterwards. In its class- standard motel with kitchen- it is 5 star in terms of quality and price. See previous...

Lovely view of Ruapehu from our room. Hot tub in the garden. Spacious, clean accommodation at a very reasonable price. Lovely river walk right outside. Absolutely nothing to do in Ohakune itself but good information centre. DVD library. Bikes. Great place. We looked at several in the town and this was definitely the best value.

We had a gorgeous view of the mountain from our clean, spacious room. This motel offers generous free wifi, self-contained kitchen, and fresh milk to go with the complimentary coffee and tea in the room. There were comfortable beds, a good shower, and an extensive lending library of DVDs. The owner was very helpful, cheerfully going the extra mile for...

As part of a small road trip, we checked in here for the night - it suited our budget. To our surprise, we found that it was superb for the price. Very clean, . Our room was more spacious than the ones in the photographs - there was enough "personal space" for three adults in two different beds. We enjoyed...

Was exceptionally clean and shinny. While the motel is an older style modernization of fittings and furniture had mean made. The DVD library was extensive and would cater to every taste. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but I acknowledge that is a personal taste level. It seemed to be a new commercial bed and they tend...

Arrived with a sick toddler and the manager made many phone calls to help us find a doctor to see on closing time - he was so helpful and accommodating. Rooms were clean and tidy- all we needed for our stop in the snow. Close to everything and a stunning view of the mountain from our room and landing. Management...

The hotel provides clean rooms that are self contained at a excellent price for the facilities and location. Staff are very helpful and provide a personal service (small things like remembering my name). The room and bedding was warm, having spent time at the hotel during the winter.

Outstanding service, far beyond what I would have expected from a motel. I especially recommend this place for families. I arrived late with two young tired children and Donald (the manager) made us feel comfortably and dealt with us speedily . The unit was spotless, warm and decorated to a high standard. There was plenty of hot water and good water...

We had a 2 bed unit sleeping three of us. Apparently you can squeeze 6 in but that'd be really cosy! Place was clean and tidy. It was functional for our needs but could have been more comfortable eg there was no sofa or coffee table in the lounge area. Tried to get a shuttle up to the ski field...

I would've probably given this place a 3.5 star if I could but that's not available in the Tripadivsor rating. But when trying to decide whether it's "good" or "average", it is certainty more average than good. The mountain view studio room we had was fine - it was relatively spacious, and it was warm. The place was clean although...
