We stayed in the Station Lodge for 3 nights and found the hostel to have everything that we needed. Arriving by train, we easily moved our baggage to the Lodge, which was located directly next to the station. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, helping to plan our activities around bad weather and offering transport during our stay. In terms...

Station lodge is an excellent hostel. It has some of the best common spaces I have seen of any NZ hostel. The kitchen and dining areas were massive and really well kept. The rooms were clean and tidy with plenty of space to keep bags. They also offer free bikes if you are looking to go into town. The only...

We booked in here at very short notice after a disastrous experience with accommodation elsewhere. They welcomed us warmly, reassured us and set our minds at ease. The chalet accommodation was great for four of us - all the space and kitchen things you might need and a private spa pool. Great for helping to recover from the Tongariro Crossing...

We only stayed one night before we went on the Tongariro Crossing, but it was much nicer than we expected. The staff were very friendly and even arranged our transport to the Crossing for us, which was really helpful. The room we stayed in was small, but clean and perfect for the one night. We has a shared bathroom that...

Took the 1 bed apartment. Modern looking with all the amenities. Rooms are cosy with amazing views of Mt. Ruapehu. We wish we could have stayed more. Plan to stay here & do the mountain biking and other adventure activities. It's a 45 minute drive to whakapapa village, which was perfect for us.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom self-contained cabin, which was clean and came well stocked with amenities and facilities. The outlook was beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we were just making a staging-stop overnight. One small disadvantage - because this is only an affiliate of the YHA, the wifi is not free so we had to pay $7.50...

6 of us came and stayed at Station Lodge in one of the self contained units for the weekend of the Ruapehu Express MTB race. We had the most amazing time. Darren answered all our questions prior to our arrival and was a patient host. We used his shuttle/trailer to the start and then had such fun on the race...

Bathrooms, kitchen, communal areas, everything clean and in a good condition. The showers are proper and the staff very friendly and heartwarming. I'll come...

Friendly check in, then a great clean tidy room. Kitchenette was well equipped with crockery, cutlery, pots etc. Room had good heating which will be required come winter. Internet performance was great. View from the room of Mt Ruapehu was the icing on the cake

Stayed at The Station Lodge for 3 days (19/2-22/2). Wow, what a great place to relax and explore Ohakune and Tongariro National Park. The nice hosts, the clean room and facilities and well kept grounds made my stay a thoroughly enjoyable one. I could have easily stayed there a week. Certainly the best YHA associate hostel I've stayed at in...
