It all looks good on the web site but. In Villa 3 Shower taps didn't work to send water to hand wand No shelf in shower to put your things on Towels old and worn No glasses in the bathroom or bottled water. Water only available from dispenser in kitchen unit. Pool has no steps or grab rails to get in or out. The place needs a sold makeover looking ever day of its age. Dull surfaces showing age.

Staff are so helpful and welcoming! The villa is outstanding. We were blown away by how beautiful it is. The villas are close to a lot of great cafes/restaurants and bars and an atm. However, still super quiet, managed to get a good nights sleep everyday.

My daughter checked in 22 June and was disgusted with their villa. Mould everywhere, pool dirty and only half full. Checked out immediately. Villa recommended by Bali Bible, will reporting it to them. Will be demanding a $1000 refund (7 nights).

Myself together with three other friends booked this villa for 4D3N on the 13th-16th of March. The villa itself and the two bedrooms were generally spacious. The pool was wonderful and well maintained. However, housekeeping could have been done better as the master bedroom’s bathtub was a bit mouldy. The floors were sticky too. We were concerned with the security of our villa as there wasn’t much padlocks around considering that the walls were pretty low; breaking in could be a possibility. Other than that, the staff were polite and courteous. It was a wonderful stay.

I've never had such terrible stay experience. The only credit I can give is the young staffs whose only knowledge is in being polite and the daily housekeeping service. And I'm paying more than $150 a night, thinking there should be at least some quality, but no, what a disappointing stay. 1. On arrival, our car slowed down past a nice quaint lobby, only to pass by into the back of an alley with poor looking reception in a makeshift storeroom. 2. Upon entering the villa (No. 5), we found the living and kitchen without working air-conditioning, it was stuffy. Reported it time and time again, all they could say was "we will check". Finally after 2 days, they decided to tell us they could not fix it, and did not do anything about it. Went on to check the reviews on booking.com and realised I missed out on so many poor reviews, many of which included the broken A/C, which goes to show it had not been replaced since I-don't-know-when. 3. Could not get any hot water, told them about it and kept being told it had been fixed. Only managed to get hot water after 2 days. Definitely will NOT be back here.

Terrible stay - would have left, but already prepaid for all three nights. This hotel may have been nice back a few years ago, but upkeep has been terrible with mold, cockroaches and hair in not cleaned out of the shower drain (see pictures). We tried changing hotel rooms twice to find that all rooms are very run-down. When we tried changing rooms, the front desk lied to us and said all the other rooms were full and could not change. It wasn't until we said we were leaving then that magically other rooms were open. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this place to others. You can find many nice Villas in Bali, this is not one of them.

We booked a two-bedroom and another one bedroom villa. The compound for the former was slightly more spacious. King sized bed was in a cosy room on first level. Across the pool was the dining room and upstairs another bedroom with two relatively spacious single beds. Plus points: Spacious with pool. Nice design of bathroom with sky view and natural light from above. Service staff helpful. Villa is located behind Starbucks Canggu and next to D'Wina. Short 5min walk to convenience store (imported goods) and cafes (Savage Kitchen etc patronised by expat community) when you turn right on main road. To the left you have the recreation center and tennis courts. Walk further down and turn left into a street and you find Milk and Madu (another popular cafe among expats). Enjoyed breakfast at these places but more pricey (idr60-80K per dish) than local fares. If you have a driver, can visit La Laguna restaurant (15-20min drive). Pricey but nice for sunset and photo opportunities. Though clean, would have been better if villas were well maintained. Bathtub looked dirty and fixtures worn out. Very spacious but feels somewhat empty. Reception is basic (see photo).

My family and I have just returned from the Royal Bali after a week there. Overall the villa was comfortable though I must admit that when we first arrived, we were rather disappointed with the place as it was a little run down, eg: the wood on the flooring not well maintained, parts of the wood on the staircase falling out and the floors in the hall and the toilets, feel like they could use a good scrub down. Also the sink in the kitchen feels like it could use a good scrub down as well. So in actual fact, the pictures of the place on the websites don't always tell us what the place will be like. The villas are apparently 2 years old, but I feel that it could be time for a facelift. One other thing to highlight is the security in the villa. Other than the chain on the main door, there is no other lock on the main door of the villa. My kids slept in the block opposite my room (yes the master room is separated from the other room which is upstairs). You can lock the main doors with a key, if needed. We didn't want to lock our kids in though. On to the pluses of the villa. Service was good all round. Staff at the villa were always attentive and saw to our needs efficiently. Loads and loads of eateries and cafes within a 5-10 min walk from the villa. A great and well stocked supermarket just 5 mins from the villa too. The beach is about a 15-20 min walk. However, be warned that the Bali roads are extremely narrow with hardly any pedestrian walkways. This may be an issue if travelling with old people and young kids. My kids are 9 & 12 so it was alright for them. Overall experience was great. The Royal Bali is an affordable choice and the area is highly recommended.

Good stay. There no many other people around so we had our privacy and all pool and kitchen were at our disposal. Staff was friendly and helpful. Premises were well maintained and clean. Area is quiet but close to everything you need.

Canggu is quite vast which is nice and it's quiet. These Villas are a short scooter trip from the main Canggu area which has some great cafes. We arrived and found our first property D'Wina Villas owned by same company was fine, not amazing but good enough to stay for ten days and be happy - it was big, private and we had our own pool. After staying our first night there we counted our money (my partner then myself), locked it in our safe and left to go and explore. We arrived back happy with the area and booked a scooter for five days. We then opened our safe and decided to recount our cash after our room had been cleaned. There was $100 Australian dollars missing. What followed was lies about 'head office', accusations that we want to leave because of the property and lies about the 'police' who arrived (a man we had seen laughing with the manager that morning). We tried to negotiate a reasonable outcome of a full or partial refund to allow us to leave and find another property. They laughed at us and told us again that we can't have a refund - we would need to contact Expedia for that (we've kept them up to date and will follow up when we get home). We finally agreed to be moved to this place - Royal Canggu Villas which was just around the corner, also owned by the Bali Family Holidays Hospitality Group. We were promised a one bedroom villa with a pool, as we had paid extra for the pool and we got that. However, the pool was filthy and they had to have an engineer visit for three days to try fix it so we couldn't use it. Then we noticed the ants, not small ants but big ones coming from all of the wooden door frames. I have posted some pictures of this. We were up each night spraying and killing dozens and dozens of them and they kept coming! The wood is clearly infested and needs to be ripped out and treated. On our final night (7th night as we cut our stay short) we brought two staff members up to show them the ants and they were horrified. After staying for 7 nights total in both places we finally had enough and left but only after being accused of leaving food out that attracted the ants. Simple fact is we didn't and the ants were not near the kitchen - they were in our bedroom and both bathrooms. We booked another hotel for our final three nights in Bali. The customer service was very poor, no maps and no directions to anywhere around so we found everything ourselves. Do yourself a favour and never stay here or in the other properties owned by Bali Family Holidays including Dwina Villas, Kuta or Canggu Rooftop. They also own others.
