To expensive and not as expected when you arrive at the hotel. Uncertainty about the availability of the rooms. The environment around the hotel is very messy and lots of loud construction activities.
Paid a lot for this hotel given Bali prices. Positives the room is clean, modern with TV with international channels, a good bathroom and nice pool. Room contains only the bare minimum, no thoughtful things eg no chair cushions, no hand towels, no conditioner, etc. Room wasn’t ready at 1:50, staff don’t seem to know much about the hotel operation r inclusions. There is construction work going on next door, with no warnings or apologies from the hotel. Room service hours finish at 6:30, when I called just before then was told it was finished. They have a new breakfast menu, but the initial staff member didn’t know about it. I ordered the muesli - supposed to come with yogurt honey and fruits etc, but a plain bowl of oats soaked in milk turned up, which looked and tasted like muck.Danish with the American breakfast was stale. The ‘pineapple juice’ was Tang (basically cordial) Restaurant food for lunch/dinner is ok but very small portions. It seems like they are trying to save money in every way coupled with lacklustre service. compared to other places in Bali, this place is poor value.…
On our first night late arrival no aircon woerking and bed not comfortable and pilows old and saggy. . The hotel needs attntion to detail to be 4 star . The pool is great but needs more umbrellas .. the pool bar could be fun but the shot drinking drunks make it ugly and guests stay away because of loud ugly drinking . The location is fine and perhaps a shuttle would be good . The reception staff are great but some traing is required .
Staying in this hotel is like having a stingy boyfriend who isn’t even that great, but thinks he is. Maybe he looks good on the surface, but he’s shallow deep down. He’s dirty. He smells bad. He withholds basic fundamental generosities (like toilet paper and towels, and cleaning). You can’t ever get a good night’s sleep around him. But he acts like you are privileged to be with him. Yeah, welcome to the Sense Canggu Hotel. This place is pretty awful, unless you luck out and get one of the few decent rooms. i can attest to this having stayed in not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but FIVE of their garbage ramshackle rooms. First of all, any of the rooms on the bottom floor reek of musty mildew and mild, and regularly smell like sewage. I stayed at this hotel for a month, and tried to put up with the low level conditions of each room for many days before demanding to move. if you do stay on a bottom floor, be prepared for hotel staff to walk directly across your porch carrying tables, 5 feet from your bed. You will have no privacy. And did i mention the intense foul odor? Like to be awoken by 5 angry howling cats? You’re in luck! There are 4 or 5 of the most unfriendly, skittish, loud cats who live on the property; who have clearly never had human touch. They will hiss at your children, prowl outside your deck at night, try to come into your room and attack you, and stage bar fights with each other outside your room to wake you up at 3 am. And i’m a cat person. When i switched rooms the first time, the second room had some kind of ant infestation, and even after they changed the sheets, i still found my body covered in hundreds of ants every single night. Soooo I moved again. Want towels or toilet paper? Forget about it. They charge extra for these absurdly basic amenities. Want hot water? Sometimes! Sometimes not! Don’t like to spy on your neighbor? The walls are so thin it sounds like they are in the room with you and when they have sex you will feel like you are a part of the action. Like to snoop? Easy! You can hear every word they say. one neighbor checked in and then promptly woke me up at 6 AM the next morning , coughing up mucus for an hour, and moaning and groaning and hacking nonstop - in the middle of a global pandemic, the man obviously had covid or something similar. When i recorded a lengthy chunk of the insane coughing audio and sent it to the front desk , they told me it was fine and that he just must just have allergies. Um, no. I had proof of the deeply deeply ill human , and they took zero precautions to protect their staff or their guests from his blatant transmissible disease. want a functional refrigerator in your room? Tough luck. 3 days in a row i had to ask them to replace my fridge, because they brought me 3 broken ones in a row, and each time i lost a ton of expensive food and juices. The fourth fridge finally worked but was so loud it sounded like a roaring truck purring in the corner of the room. i had to finally just stop buying food and just unplug the damn thing want wifi that’s fast, consistent, or allows you to make phone calls uninterrupted? Good luck! The wifi signal here drops in and out, on and off ... and due to the hotel’s location your 4G won’t work all the time either. Important work calls? Ha! Forget about it. Half the tune they’ll only be able to hear every other word you say Room #2 had a loud beeping noise right outside the door all night, and my last room had a door that was so loose on its hinges and poorly installed that it banged all night throughout a rainstorm, (as the wind apparently moved it). I shoved clothing underneath the wide gaps on the side and bottom of the door, but it wouldn’t stop banging. I didn’t get a single decent night’s sleep here once in a month of being here. And the staff acted annoyed whenever i asked them to move due to the awful conditions of the rooms they kept moving me to You like run down garbage hotels that appear from the outside to be elegant? This is your place. You like a hotel to take a deposit from you when you move in, and then insist that you never gave it to them, and just keep your money? This is your place! You want a clean, quiet, comfortable hotel with good wifi and toilet paper? (Basic stuff?) RUN AWAY. This is a waste of your time and money.…
My wife and me were surprised by a clean, well maintained and especially relaxing hotel. The staff was friendly and everything comfortable. We got the room at ground label were you can step out of the veranda into the swimmingpool. The only small minus was the check in. The ladies at the check in did not seem to welcoming or interested that a guest checkin. A beautiful place were I will return for sure

This hotel and their staff are unparalleled. Best staff, incredible views, maybe the best pool in the world. Incredible scenario, food is excellent and the entire experience is second to none. Must do in Bali!
Terrible service, manager not able to admitt staff mistakes nor fix them. Gave me smaller room than i paid for and refused to admitt it actually is smaller. As it was late i had to stay with all my luggage, they refused to provide 2 towels, barely gave me 1, i had to fight for it
I have never wrote a review on Tripadvisor before but due to the horrendous service I received from this hotel I felt like I had too. I booked a 10 night stay at this hotel in April. Due to COVID 19 my flights were cancelled so I contacted the hotel and cancelled my booking. I was told my refund could take upto 1 month, it has now been over 3 months since I cancelled and I still haven’t received my refund. I have tried contacting the hotel through every means possible (phone, email, watsapp, Instagram messenger etc etc but never get an answer/ reply) Around every 4 weeks they will just send a generic email saying the refund is in progress and blame it on their bank “apparently their banks are not up and running properly”.....this is the pathetic excuse they have been giving me for the last 3 1/2 months They never give me any further information or indication of when I am likely to receive my money. When I reply I will not hear anything from them for a further month and the process will repeat itself. Basically I’m non the wiser from the day I cancelled. Their customer service has been absolutely disgusting! I have reported them to booking.com (who I made the booking with) and they have seen all the evidence they need from me to see I am being mistreated. Thankfully booking.com have refunded me and have said they will chase them for the refund themselves. Whilst I never actually got to spend time at this hotel, If my treatment this far is any indication of their customer service, I won’t be giving them a second chance at keeping my money!…
The Sense Canggu Beach Hotel is a lovely hotel for a peaceful and relaxing break. The staff are helpful and friendly and the room is very clean and spacious. It is a quite location and only a short walk from the beach and village. The pool is wonderful and lovely when the lights are on in the evening. The food was great and the prices were very good. Breakfast was included in our booking and there was a great choice of items on the menu.
