Finest architect designed & Serviced Beach Villas in Kerala with Private chef, waiter, servants and private like beach at a stone's throw from Arabian Sea. A perfect boutique property for Authentic Ayurveda, & Yoga. All rooms have excellent view of the Sea from the bed, and water visible from all corners of the room. 5 star quality bathrooms of minimum 100 sq.feet each, with running hot water. Four rooms ( 2 villas ) are air conditioned, with restricted hours - 12 hours in the night , and two are non air-conditioned. Private like beach where only your foot print follows you. So Idealistic, that those who stay here are reluctant to tell you about this property.
A cosy house by the beach, with sun-chairs and outdoor dining under the stars, a direct view of the sunset, and some healthy, homely food. Whats to complain about? Well if there is one thing it would be the strenous uphill/dowlhill climb to get to the location, with small kids in tow. It really was reason enough to make us stay at the location all day. But otherwise we had a peaceful stay. The manager Vinod was kind enough to accomodate our incessant requests and helped make our stay comfortable. Also we had an early moring flight to catch and the management made arrangements for a cab and for our luggage to be transported to the cab (its an uphill task) in the wee hours of the morning.
Each Villa has two rooms. So its ideal if you're travelling with company as you will be sharing a house. The beach is closeby, but requires a bit of a walk. Food was homely and tasty. There was no air-conditioning, but the cooler was sufficient since it was December.

Karikkathi offers a tranquil and intimate stay with the most stunning ocean views. The cottages are aesthetically designed and the staff treats you like a member of their family offering bespoke services. The caretaker Mr. Vinod went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The food is homely and delicious.
Karikkathi is truly a carefully tucked away secret gem of Kerala and we are definitely coming back!

This was our second visit to Karikkathi Beach House. The maiden stay was in 2019 before COVID. At that time this property was mostly visited by upper end European guests. But now many domestic tourists are visiting. What impressed me most was that many upgradations have been done in the property inspite of the recession due to COVID. Nee lawn area and gardening areas are made. Yearly repair, painting & polishing works have been done in tact. I felt happy to have repeated my visit. Definitely this is an Off-Beat property. Still a hidden paradise.
Each villa in the property comes with a lawn or seafront balcony. Water is visible from all corners in the room. But we felt that the tariff is for the unique seafront location, not the rooms. The food was excellent. We also tried Ayurvedic massages - very rejuvenating. Thanks to Vinod and Rajesh for their outstanding informal service. The owner always had patient listening years to our needs
So ideallic, that we are reluctant to tell you about this property.

Beautiful place, lovely rooms, although very dusty and the mattress was stained. The caretaker guy made me feel so uncomfortable, he was always lurking around a corner watching me. I don’t get the AC thing, only being allowed at night for an extra charge. Just put glass in the windows and let me use it when I want to! Great beach views, but they really pressure you to eat there. I asked if there was anywhere else to eat nearby and ‘Vinod’ said ‘NO!’ And yet when I walked along the beach, there was a fabulous pizza place with outside seating just two minutes away, and an incredible resort hotel with live entertainment too.

The welcome from Vinod the care taker was lovely. He has a smile and a joke for anyone. He looked after us really well. The surf is amazing to play in, just don't try swimming, it's very powerful. Sit instead and watch the kites come within feet of you as they battle it out with the crows. The sea breeze goes someway to negate the heat

Definitely a no brainer for people who love to wake up to the sound of the waves. The place is secluded with a not-so-comfortable walk way to the place since their original access is now blocked because of the construction of a port nearby but the view and the hospitality that the team provides is definitely worth it. If there's something they can't make, they'll have it ordered in for you. If you want a dip in the pool, they'll arrange that in the neighbouring resort for you. If you want a massage, they'll call a masseuse for you. In short, this place is great if you just want to do nothing for a few days and enjoy breathtaking views of the sunset.

Best place for friends hangout. Beach side , sound of waves, private cottage. Visited the place with 5 friends we stayed for 1 night. The path to the beach house is a little adventurous ( say the least). Rest everything was good and well. Vinod, Manager was there for everything and arranged our food and other requirements. Beach is rough and risky. Advised us not to bathe in sea after drinks. But the beach is good for some sports and great sunset view. Provides wonderful background for your photos. Absolutely loved the day with friends. I might say - a small family group or ladies only group might find the place a little insecure because it's that private and as said above, the way to the place is not good. But for friends getogether it's best

It was the first time to visit India and I stayed Karikkathi Beach House for ayurvedic treatment. Their location is good, very quiet and they are in front of the beach. But I wouldn't recommend this place because I had a terrible experience there.
I was given a massage as ayurvedic treatment and was been lying on my back naked. When I open my eyes during massage by chance, their male staff was looking down beside me! I hadn't found and imagined that someone was around me except female massager because I always close my eyes during massage for relaxing. Additionally, the massager was beside me near the door and knew he was coming into the room. But she hadn't said anything until I found him. This happened on my last night there and there were no responsible person except thismale staff. I claimed this incident directly to the owner of this hotel later, he never believed me and just tell me give me the visual evidence of this incident. I was shocked and disappointed about this dishonest reaction again. As a result, I reported this to local police station. But these staffs (as pictured )still work at this place. So be carefull!! I would highly recommend other hotel if you plan to visit around this place.

Response from Karikkathibeach House, Owner at Karikkathi Beach House
Responded 23 Aug 2023
I sincerely regret that she had such a feeling on the last day of her I week stay. The guest completed her stay with us and didn't mention such an incident before check out. A couple of weeks after she had left, she sent a mail narrating this incident. This has definitely made us suspicious about the genuiness of the incident. ,🙏

Our stay at Karikkathi Beach House was hugely disappointing and we would not recommend it to others. the location is wonderful - on top of a secluded beach with great views although the sea is not easily swimmable due to the high breakers. The accommodation leaves a lot to be desired - in both houses the bathrooms are old and desperately in need to refurbishment. The beds are stained and uncomfortable with dirty mosquito nets; the bed and bath linen is old and needs replacement. There were 6 of us in our party and we were all very badly bitten by sandflies which plagued the bedrooms and the only way to cope with them is to use the mosquito nets. The owner had over let the 4 bedrooms when we were there: renting the sitting room to another couple! Making it less than 'exclusive' and very unpleasant for some of our party. Even more problematic the additional unexpected guests block booked the masseuse so there was no opportunity for us to use that part of the facilities in the time we stayed there. Termites in the bedroom roofs covered the rooms with dirt and dust. What could be a wonderful retreat was a major disappointment - we would have left if we could have found anywhere else to stay (there's a five star hotel right next door). Of course we complained to the owner who was not the least interested in our experience: be warned this is an owner who is only interested in taking the cash - not in reinvesting in basic maintenance. Not to be recommended and should be withdrawn from the Roger Sawdey's India book

We are just back from a lovely stay at the Beach House and the remarks made by several visitors earlier this year are from our experience totally unfounded. The place was clean with towels and bedlinen replaced with clean ones each day. Vinod bought the food we asked for at the local market and the cook prepared it the way we liked it. OK we had little salamanders inside but that is expected out in the country (here in the UK we get frogs inside) especially with windows and doors open. And yes the sandflies bite so one uses jungle juice or similar. The sea was wild unfortunately but one can hardly blame the owner or its staff for these things. We very much enjoyed the peace and tranquility and of course the massage from top to toe in coconut oil. Thanks to Vinod and the rest of the staff this was a most relaxing stay and we hope to be back. Chris and Ria
