Pappukutty is a clean, modest, and comfortable place to stay in the very central Lighthouse Beach area of Kovalam. Just around the corner are many shops with handcrafted items and good food at Pappukutty's own next-door Nirvana Restaurant (fresh fish every day; you can meet the fish lady). Beach is well-kept and lively into the evenings, but Pappakutty is angled away so that it's both on the beach and quiet. Behind the hotel is a public park with a path that leads to more stores and to transportation (auto-rickshaw, taxi, bus) into the nearby Kerala state capital, Trivandrum.
If you enjoy luxury cruises and all-inclusive vacations, you'll probably be more comfortable elsewhere. Pappukutty is a family-run hotel with a very capable staff. Mr. Nadarajan, the owner, lives nearby and visits daily.
Rooms in the three-story hotel have verandahs and balconies for you to relax, and there are also small cottages with porches that face a quiet, common garden.

Now this one is budget accommodation in Kovalam, but dont go by its sea facing room, most of the rooms arent see facing, like u need to lean from our balcony to get the view of the sea.
On the other hand, the pool is pretty clean and it provides pool side breakfast, which is really good.

We stayed for two nights. Ram the person at reception was very helpful and courteous. Its right on the beach and around 500 metres from the Kovalam car parking area for which one has to reach the hotel by walking along the pathway which is by the side of the beach. (Hotel arranges for luggage pick up from the parking area and drop off) Our room had a view of the swimming pool and partial sea view (103) but had a balcony. Room was spacious and the staffs were very well behaved. The person at the restaurant was very accommodating and the breakfast and other food were decent at the price. However, the room smelt of massage oil, which the earlier occupants might have undergone massage. The swimming pool needs cleaning and people throng into it without proper attire, which has to be looked by the management. (even though signboards are there) . A renovation may make tis property star category due to its location. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Located right on the shores of the Mighty Arabian Sea, The Pappukutty Beach Resort is an ideal place to all the Sea Lovers to enjoy a vacation. I along with my family checked into the resort on 30/03/21 at around 3pm to a warm welcome from the Manager of the resort Mr Sachin who was very courteous and helpful. Since I had a prior booking it hardly took a minute to complete the check in formalities. We were then led into our very well appointed and spacious rooms by the porters and served cold water. After taking a rest for an hour we changed into our swim wear and just ran into the beautiful Kovalam Beach. After almost 2 hours of swimming in the sea we came back and were served hot tea and coffee along with light snacks of our choice by Mr. Khan, who is the captain of the in-house Restaurant. The next morning we were served a multi cuisine breakfast including Parathas, Chole masala with choice of eggs and bread, dosa with chutney and sambhar along with fresh fruit juices and hot beverages. The food quality was very good and all credit goes to Mr khan and his able team consisting of Mr Vincent, Mr Ali and Mr Radish. After a day long sightseeing in Thiruvananthapuram we came back in time for the evening high tea and light snacks of pakodas. After a swimming session in the in-house swimming pool we had our choice of Seafood dinner consisting of Prawns curry and Calamari fish fry washed with my favorite Amstel Bier(Beer) . After a walk on the beach side we retired for the day into our cosy beds.Today as I write my review of my stay at The Pappukutty Beach Resort, I will be carrying a Loadfull of pleasant memories of a fulfilled vacation. The Pappukutty Beach Resort is providing top class and hygienic facilities at very reasonable rates. Highly Recommended 👍👍👍👍👍

Booked for 8 days, lasted 12 hours. Mould and dirt on furniture,fridge and fittings. 2shower heads but hot water via a bucket! Curtains and bedding look like theyve been left over from 1960's Pool was green with mould Broken tv replaced with one without a stand Not brave enough to try breakfast.

There is no Ayurvedic or Yoga services even though both are advertised. Ayurveda is at difgerent lication! Room has no TV (even though they claim to have them on their website), no hotwater kettle, tea/coffee. (Other 3 star hotel offer hot water kettle plus tea/coffee and TV.) In room fridge not working. Definitely not value for money - overpriced for what it is. Would not recommend it for sure.

A very good place to stay. Its right on the Beach, having a nice and clean Swimming Pool and a Nice Garden
The rooms are good with facilities of hot water (through tap) in the morning hours.
Most attractive part of the Resort is the elevated covered observation deck in front part of the Resort. Its as good as being on the Beach.
The Staff are very polite, helpful and co-operative

Never book this hotel. Actually I planned for 2 days stay but left after 1 day stay. I booked Arabian Sea View room he gave me sea flower room. I should checkin at 12pm , they provided room at 1pm. Service is horrible. The hotel manager and staff gives preference to Foreigners so that they can loot money. Hot water is not available. Location is very good but you may get lot of hotels with same kind of location. When I booked in June hotel ranking was in top 15 now in top 35.

I stayed in Kovalam beach for 1 night with family. The service is very poor. Rude and non-co-operative staffs and even the rooms are not great. There are other hotels too just beside this hotel which are more decent than this hotel. If you are going to Kovalam beach, better not stay in this hotel.
