I just returned from almost a month stay at Niraamaya Surya Samudra and it was fabulous!! I did a 21 day Ayurveda program and I returned home feeling energized and balanced. Dr. Accamma is the best Ayurveda dr I have ever worked with, very knowledgeable, personable and attentive. The spa staff is very skilled and the spa itself is very clean and beautiful. The Ayurveda menu at the restaurant is excellent and the restaurant staff all pleasant and attentive. This is my second visit to this resort but my tenth visit to India for Ayurveda treatment and this is definitely my favourite resort. It’s very clean, from the cottages to the beach it’s all well maintained. The garden shower is such a treat and the cottages are well equipped with everything u need and beautifully decorated in the traditional Kerala style. Most cottages are well placed for privacy with lots of trees so the birds sing all day. I only wish it was strictly an Ayurveda resort for selfish reasons, however there are many families and groups so sometimes it’s a little loud around the pool-and not as quiet as one would hope. Yet, the pool area is beautiful and clean with hard working staff maintaining the pool and replenishing towels. There was nightly entertainment and a few cultural activities during the day. There is a daily yoga class, it would be beneficial if there were more yoga or meditation classes included in the fee so the yoga instructor wouldn’t always be up selling. The once a day yoga class at 7am is in a beautiful setting by the sea. A meditation class or another option for yoga in the evening I think would be valuable at a wellness resort but it only comes for an additional fee. beach is quiet and private and also clean and well maintained with chairs and umbrellas. The staff on the beach work hard to carry out chairs and umbrellas when needed. Once I mentioned to the manager there weren’t enough umbrellas for shade for everyone and the rest of my trip there always seemed to be extra. No request at Niraamaya will go unanswered. It is a very long steep walk down stone stairs to get to the beech so for elderly and children it may not be ideal. But definitely worth it as it beautiful!! The grounds itself have a lot of steep stairs so you Will be in good shape when you leave. I can’t say enough good things about this resort, I have stayed at many Ayurveda resorts and this is by far the most luxurious, beautiful and clean. It is more expensive, but in India you get what you pay for

My team and I needed a place to get away, unwind, and also celebrate some major milestones. We did some research and chose Niraamaya Retreats. This retreat is situated in Kovalam and provides spectacular views of the Arabian Sea. We were looking for a place with some fresh air, a beach view and a spa. When we checked into Niraamaya Resorts, we got all that, and more. From the moment we got there, till we left, it felt like we were in a beautiful haven, where the outside world didn’t exist.
All of us got amazing rooms. Each room was beautifully set up, and to be honest, their washrooms were even more interesting - with both closed and open showers! My favourite thing was to check out the unique ways in which they’ve built each cottage. The whole place is so unique in its architecture and structure, so I guess I’ll never get tired of coming here. There will always be new things to experience.
The staff arranged a lot of games for us and were almost adamant in ensuring that we all bonded well as a team. Sreejith took the lead in all the exemplary arrangements, and the whole team was very sportive, making sure that we enjoyed every second of all the activities. Their attention to detail was unparalleled. They took charge of every activity, ensuring that each person on our team was having a good time. Mahesh took extra care to see that we were all safe at their private beach, ensuring we were guarded at all points. All the staff were experienced professionals who went above and beyond in their respective duties.
About the food - Chef Prakash welcomed us and catered to us in every way possible. His team took our preferences into concern, and gave us a customised menu. We enjoyed everything they served, be it their chai or their full course Onam Sadya. To top it all, the restaurant was located at a cliff facing the beach, and the view was spectacular. Chef Prakash was also personally checking on us to ensure that we were enjoying our stay.
If you are looking for a place to relax and be pampered, then Niraamaya is the place to be. It is a short drive away from Thiruvananthapuram. The property has acres of lawns and massive trees, and the beach is just a few steps away, ensuring an uninterrupted & private access to the Arabian Sea. If you think the photos that you see are beautiful, the real views will take your breath away. I don’t think any photograph can capture the real beauty of this place - you have to be there to experience it. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, this is the place to be. After a busy year, my team and I were looking for a place to take a break, and this was the perfect place to do just that. We got to enjoy breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea, had fun activities and our meals were amazing. Niraamaya was a treat for all our senses. We will definitely come back and we highly recommend this place to everyone!

We booked into the Heritage Superior cottage, in November 2019. Our stay was a lovely and peaceful experience from the moment we stepped onto the premises, till we departed. The booking was a smooth process too, with a couple of queries answered promptly and clearly. Our son enjoyed his time too. They had several options for engaging kids and keeping them occupied. Kiddo enjoyed baking muffins with the pastry chef (an activity they had for kids), and making a little pot at the end of a pottery session with an award winning master craftsman. Everyone at the resort, from the groundskeepers, housekeeping, restaurant staff, reception, manager, to everyone in between were thoughtful, respectful, and warm! The layout of the cottages is clever: no cottage faces another directly. The views are simply marvellous, and the cottage we stayed in was simply, elegantly, and traditionally furnished. (Loved the doors and windows and bathrooms!). Things were spotlessly clean, and yet you rarely saw anyone bustling around cleaning. It was handled so discreetly, which is what you hope for, but rarely receive Devansh Jain (general manager) was a refreshing surprise: he checked in with us (and with other guests too at the resort) personally, making sure our needs were met, and our questions answered. I don't remember the names of all the staff we interacted with, but of the names I do remember, here's a shout out to Priya, Gautam, Anil (or Anwar?), Subodh, the chef, security, Devansh, and anyone else we have missed in this write up.

Great location and great hospitality.The resort has one of the cleanest beaches in trivandrum,beautiful and isolated.From your room you could catch a glimpse of the fishermen take their boats to the sea, or the beautiful sunset and the view does not stop after sunset ,like hundreds of fireflies, the ocean lights up at night to give a mesmerising view that are of the hundreds of fishing boats set out at sea.The food is top-notch and very authentic. We spent 4 days at Niraamaya, after a very hectic few weeks travelling in Kerala What a perfect end to our trip. From the moment we arrived at reception and were greeted by the Manager Devansh Jain, to the time we left,, we were treated as if we were the only people there. The views from our cottage of the sea were glorious, the grounds were kept so beautifully and being surrounded by greenery and 1,500 coconut trees was glorious. The Cafe Samara all day dining restaurant was excellent. The breakfasts were a la carte, and of the best quality with choice and every attention to detail regarding food intolerances were met. The lunch was extremely reasonable, with choice, and the service at all times was exemplary.
We ate each evening in the Cafe Samsara, outdoors looking out to sea, with music entertainment most evenings.
The Ayurvedic spa treatments were wonderful, with care and attention from the Dr Sajin Philip The atmosphere in the spa is so relaxing and the therapists are extremely well trained, polite and attentive.
I would have no hesitation to recommend Niraamaya to anyone who would like total relaxation and peace in Kerala, and only wish we could have stayed longer.
I must mention though that there are very steep steps down to a lovely empty beach, so it is very difficult if you have any mobility issues, and the ground levels around the retreat are very uneven, so I would not recommend to the infirm or elderly. However, a buggy was always on hand to take you to and from your villa or meals. Security too was of the highest standard, and every single member of staff were trained to the highest level and greeted you each time you passed them. This must all be due to the excellent management of Davansh Jain, who ensures that the whole retreat runs perfectly. Thank you.

When I began planning a road trip from Bangalore to Kovalam with a menagerie of 6 members ranging 1 tp 70 years of age, there was a vital decision to be made. Niraamaya was in direct competition with Leela, now Raviz, which quite easily is the best hotel in India for me. What I learnt was a simple answer; both are very different properties and deserve a visit in their own right. Niraamaya offers beautiful cottages with splendid bathrooms which have open roofs for showers. Do choose the sea facing villas over other options, Ibis and Myna are the best though we stayed at Pandanus which was also quite good. The best part of the property is its beach which is cut off from the public by a rock making it the cleanest, family friendly one with a constant supervision of the hotel's strict lifeguard. In this respect, it scores over Raviz. The service is exemplary with staff who go the extra mile to make the stay comfortable for you. Libin and Kadambini were absolute stars. The only point which deserves the attention of the management is the food which needs an overhaul from the ingredients used to the offer of dishes and their cooking. Everything else is pitch perfect.

Our heritage room was stunning; the view over the beach gorgeous, the food delicious but most of all the staff were delightful, incredibly helpful, charming, interesting and engaging. The sea was too choppy to swim for long although you could wave hop but the beach was quiet and the pool was lovely and mostly pretty empty. It's a hotel to relax in rather than use as a sightseeing base so good to explore elsewhere before or after (or both) and use this as calm time.

We were very Impressed with Services at Niraamaya Retreats Surya Samudra Kovalam And we were Super Impressed With COVID 19 Precautionary Measures taken by all Staff Members at the Retreat . Completely Safe and Secure Property with Staff Members following all Guidelines for COVID 19 Precautions. From the Moment we booked our Reservation We were Personally taken care especially by Devansh GM of the Retreat and Chef Prakash and all the Other Staff Members also. Overall it was an amazing stay.
The best feeling was to just sit at the cafe and look at the beach.
It is a private beach, so only people stayed in the resort could access it which was good as the beach side was clean and less crowded

Had an wonderful stay at Niramaya! Right from the time of booking till the end of our stay, everything went really well. We were greeted by the General Manager Mr. Devansh upon arrival who ensured that we had one of the best Heritage Premium Sea view cottage ready for us. The view was breathtaking and service was fabulous. Thanks to Saranya who helped us with the reservation, Sreejith at the reception, Samson at the restaurant who was very helpful, and the housekeeping staff, you guys are rock stars and in these tough times, you guys took great care of us.
