Elila is overall a nice and comfortable place. I have been to Elila mainly to have lunch on weekends either alone or with colleagues. Did not stay at the hotel overnight. The area by the pool is definitely worth to visit and chill out. They have fast internet and the food was really good. Tried the hamburger with fries. It...

Rooms are not very comfortable and they're quite expensive. However, quite well located, nice garden, intimate, nice cooking (especially the liboke), a very good reception (staff is really really nice) and a climbing wall.

Location is good with nice view on the lake from the terrace. Rooms quite small but cleaner than most alternatives and functional without loads of chinese design decorations (that's a pro). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Internet was up and down, overall not great. There's a swimming pool

If you can, request the upper floors in the front of the building for spectacular views of the lake. I was mesmerized by the sunrise and sunset from the vantage point of my window. On one hand, the negatives include less than desirable mosquito nets and cramped washrooms, but on the other the other hand the food was quite nice....

The service is average it can really depend on who is serving you. Food is ok but a little bit slow. The hostel is very well located and safe. There is a swimming pool which is very rare in Bukavu the water is clean but the floor around it can be very slippy. A climbing wall is available, unique in...

I haven't stayed here as I am currently working in Bukavu so we have a house, but we use this hotel for our field staff coming in for R&R. The food is not bad. I had fish, which was really good. A few NGOs got together and built a climbing wall so that is fun. I don't know the cost...

Hotels here are generally over-priced and poor quality. Elilah is usually not all that different. It can be hit or miss on the room you get so you need to be demanding and not accept the box room if they are "full." However, they have introduced 2 new additions as of late - a climbing wall with equipment and a...

As tourists we had difficulty finding an affordable place to stay. Elila was secure, in a good location near other hotels and their restaurants with nice views from the upper levels. The staff were friendly and helpful, soaking french and English. They helped arrange taxis and have good advice for exploring Bukavu. There breakfast was included and very good.

Unless you're ready to splurge at the over-priced Orchid or the slightly less expensive Coco Lodge, the Elila Hotel is a solid choice, reasonably priced, in Bukavu. And no one here will grossly inflate the cost of the room, like the Orchid does, just because a second person, such as a husband/wife shares the bed. A quiet neighbourhood, nice views...
