This was our 5th trip to Alaska's Kodiak Island Resort and each time we say it can't get any better but each year something new or different keeps us saying, this is the absolute best Alaska fishing experience you could ask for. Larsen Bay on Kodiak Island, where the lodge is located is a sportsman's paradise from the abundant wildlife...

We spent 3 nights at KIR. We loved the lodge, the food and the fishing. Allen participates in every aspect of the guest stay. Capt Jimmy and Tommy are fishing machines. Couple that with the smoothest, best riding and most comfortable fishing boat out there and that makes a great trip. We had a halibut meal that was the best...

We just returned from our second trip to Alaska. We had bad weather and difficult fishing on the Kenai River with another lodge but once we arrived in Larsen Bay at Kodiak Island Resort, the weather cleared and the fishing was fabulous. We were there the last week of August. This was our second visit to Kodiak Island Resort and...

I have never fished before in my life, but my husband has been an avid fisherman since he was a young boy. This was our third trip to Alaska and he wanted to fish. I figured, what better place to fish for the first time than Alaska. So I signed up as well. We knew we wanted to go to...

This Lodge told us they chartered us a flight as it was included in the price. However when we flew into Kodiak, the so called chartered flight had left us. We got stuck in Kodiak for several hours and when we finally got to Kodiak Island Resort in the latter afternoon, they said we could not fish because they had...

We do feel bad for this guest's disappointment, but not unlike most hotels and lodges, we do not offer refunds for missed flights, weather delays, etc., which is disclosed in our terms and reservation confirmation. The guest failed to check-in for the prearranged flight to the lodge, as required and arrived at our flight service 11 minutes after the scheduled...

Well, they always say that the third time is a charm. I returned to Kodiak Island Resort for the 3rd time in early July. Last time (read previous review – Heaven on Earth) I visited Kodiak Island Resort with my two sons. This time I went with a dear friend of 51 years and his son and grandson, 9 years...

Full disclosure...I can not rate this lodge for any services that they provide because I did not have the opportunity to actually stay here. I am only able to rate my experience that I encountered with the owner of the lodge. I was a solo traveler and booked this fishing trip in January 2016 for a mid June reservation. I...

Our entire staff is certainly sorry this individual traveler has these feelings. After numerous phone calls and emails with this person our staff felt like his ambitions, expectations and goals were something we may not have been able to fulfill. I discussed these concerns with the client and professionally answered his requests and repeatedly explained our reservations regarding his expectations....

Today we (myself, my wife, and my aunt and uncle) left Kodiak Island after 4 nights and 3 days of fishing at Kodiak Island Resort. Even though everyone was an experienced fisherman but me - we all had a wonderful time! First the fishing - from what we could see at the docks this resort definitely has the best boat...

This place is over the top. I think anyone can find a place to fish in Alaska but if you want more that catching fish, you need to go here. Allen, April and their staff make you feel like your at Ritz or better. Every meal is made to perfection, fresh linens everyday, outstanding accommodations. They use a custom boat that...
