My husband and I travelled from the other side of the world to hike on Kodiak Island with Brigid and Harry. We were on the first trip for the 2016 season (mid June). Despite Harry having been at Aleut Island for a month prior to our trip, he had not bothered to make a trip to the outcamp to confirm...

My husband, adult daughter, and I spent 4 nights with Harry and Brigid in late August. As the other reviews have reported, this trip really is a unique and amazing experience. We were blessed with remarkable weather - clear and sunny the whole time we were there. We saw more bears than we could count - at least 30 and...

We had an incredible time with Harry, Brigid and their dog, Loyal. We almost canceled our trip due to weather delays but we are SO glad we didn't. It was well worth all of the trouble to reschedule flights, etc. Harry and Brigid were very easy to work with throughout our travel challenges and were even better once we arrived...

Brigid and Harry were most attentive and friendly hosts and guides without being at all invasive. We had their undivided attention as we were the only guests, apart from 2 friends of theirs who also helped them look after us. In general they prefer to limit the number of guests to 6. Their rustic lodge is in a beautiful location...

If you are looking for a truelly amazing experience try staying with Brigid and Harry. They and their dog Loyal will take you to places where you can see the Bears in their natural surroundings. Don't take the trip for the food or the accommodation - take it for the chance to see the beauty of the Kodiak wilderness. Kodiak...

We spent 4 memorable days with Harry & Brigid Dodge Aug 2-6. Kodiak Treks is not for everyone - as a lodge the accommodations and food are satisfactory but not a reason to make the long trip to Aleut Island to meet the Dodges and their Lab "Loyal" - but if you are seeking to explore the Kodiak wilderness in...

Where do I begin to describe the amazing experience that Brigid and Harry provided? I wanted to find a remote area of Alaska where I was surrounded by beauty and could see some of Alaska's wildlife. Well I got that in abundance, but also was shown a way of life that respected and celebrated the natural world. The kindness and...

We took this trip for our honeymoon, and it was truly the adventure of a lifetime! We probably saw around 35 bears (from varying distances) during our 4 night trip. Out of those, there were 9 bears we saw at "closer range"- close enough that with a zoom lens I could take beautiful pictures worthy of hanging on the wall....

Trekking with Harry and Brigid was a highlight of our trip to the US. Having not experienced any contact with bears except in a zoo in Australia, I was excited by the prospect of being in their habitat and having the opportunity to observe them at a relatively close distance. We arrived at the Lodge at Uyak Bay on Aleut...

If you love eco-travel and minimalist accomodations, this is the place for you. If you expect fancy everything, it is not. Their island has no running water and they are very conservation minded. That said, they are EXCELLENT hosts in so many ways. We spent 2 of 3 days camping about 8 miles from their island, which is is Uyak...
