Savvy travelers, unfamiliar with new digs they are prospecting, know enough to ask their would-be host/hostess a battery of questions. In the case of the Blonde Bear B & B, I asked if the room about which I'd inquired had a private bathroom or a shared bathroom. I was assured it had a private bathroom. The term "private bathroom" clearly...

Stayed two nights here and loved it. Tina is a super host, goes out of her way to make sure you are happy with your stay. Her breakfasts were hearty and yummy. I am a non meat eater and she went above and beyond to make sure I had plenty of good food. We met some nice people while staying...

I travel to Kenai several times a year for business. I have stayed at the Blonde Bear for the last 7 years. George and Tina are great hosts. They are both Alaska natives and can recommend great activities and sights to see. The rooms are always clean and the breakfast is 1st class. George is a US Navy veteran cook....

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD # WITHOUT SEEING THE ROOM. We were told over the phone that The Raven was plenty big for 3 of us. Upon arrival and seeing the room which was very small, I asked where we were supposed to put our luggage. Duh, I guess she never thought that one would be "traveling" and...

We are truly sorry that you were unhappy with a stay that never transpired. I would venture to say that 99.9% of Alaska's Lodging has no air conditioning. With most summer temperatures ranging in the mid 60's there is little need, and most humidity levels ranging in the 40% range on summer days. Most 5 star energy rated buildings in...

I didn't actually stay at this B&B, my experience is solely about the booking process. I made my reservation for 2 nights approximately 2 weeks before my arrival date on the phone and the owner was gracious enough to waive the booking fees if I paid cash. I never received any email confirmation or any disclosure about their cancellation policy....

The Blonde Bear is in a terrific location for anyone needing to stay in the Kenai area. It's close enough for a ten or so minute drive, and far enough away to feel "away from it all" during your stay. We found our hosts to be very gracious, and breakfast each morning was very, very good. We chose the Blonde...

During the early part of August, 2013, my brother and I were fishing with a guide on the Kenai River, and, at his recommendation, booked reservations at the Blonde Bear for 6 nights. We were not disappointed. The whole place is neat and clean and nicely furnished. George and Tina were gracious hosts, who treated us like family. Each breakfast...

My husband and I decided to take a quick get away, do some fishing, visit friends, maybe see some sights. George and Tina made our stay so very special. The location was perfect, as the grounds were beautifully surrounded by nature and the accommodations were five star. We could have slept in every morning, if it wasn't for the wonderful...

“Several of the rooms have a private bath room. If that is important to you, you should request that in advance. Our room had a shared bath room, but since we were the only guests during our stay, it was not a problem.”
