A full breakfast was included with our stay. The dining area is large with fabulous views of the mountains. Our room was very spacious. The hotel is located at the edge of town and is too far to walk to the Spit. But there is a beach area and a coffee shop, with limited hours, within walking distance. There is also a free trolley that makes a stop at the hotel and numerous other spots in town. We enjoyed not being in the center of activity and noise.
The property was clean. Above average in cleanliness for Alaska. The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was a nice feature and tasty for all in our group. Perfect location for Homer even if not actually on the Spit.
Was a great location with breakfast and food in the evening. followed by gym and a nice soak in the hot tub. 10/10 recommend this hotel. Has a great staff with great views of the homer spit. It was pretty busy with people but still not to loud at night.
We stayed one night at the BW Bidarka in Homer after spending the day fishing for halibut. The entire place was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay here again on my next visit.
Loved that there was plenty of hot water and the room was really clean! Also, the breakfast was awesome! A lot of good choices and homemade! There was a nice restaurant/bar in with the hotel and the views of the mountains were amazing which is important considering we were in Alaska!
We have stayed at this hotel over 5 times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are quite large complete with a decent size refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Our room was very clean and smelled fresh unlike other reviewer's comments about a musty smell. The breakfast is from 5:30-9:30. If there is a mobility issue, request staying on the first floor since there are no elevators. We stayed in the annex which is a separate building away from the main building and quieter. There is a cocktail bar in the middle of the main building which I could foresee to be noiser for the surrounding rooms.
There was a booking error, needed 2 beds and I was never notified I only had one. I showed them the email and it didn't indicate the number of beds. They didn't care. Booked in February for an August stay. They said it wasn't there fault and said I should be happy they got me a room(handicapped) at all. If you have an issue - forget about it, they hide behind the staff and know you are there's when in Homer AK. They were happy taking the extra $400.
We stayed for 4 nights and the room was huge bed comfortable. The view was unbelievable! Breakfast was over the top excellent. Food and service in the hotel bar and grill was wonderful. The front desk was helpful and accommodating.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, adequately furnished and quiet. They offer a hot breakfast buffet, in addition to continental breakfast items. One “negative”, there are no elevators accessing the rooms or the breakfast area. This is a nice place to stay.
This hotel was horrible. The room smelled disgusting- musty and gross. There’s no air conditioning, which you need even in Alaska - I was hot and miserable all night both nights. The breakfast was gross, and they stop serving it at 9:30, which isn’t super helpful when you’re on vacation and want to sleep in and relax in the mornings. And the breakfast staff were gruff and started taking away food even before it was 9:30. The ice machine couldn’t even fill up a whole ice bucket and then just wouldn’t give any more ice, even after I came back 20 minutes later to see if it had made more ice by then. I will never stay here again and will most likely never stay in another Best Western.
