We have stayed at this hotel over 5 times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are quite large complete with a decent size refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Our room was very clean and smelled fresh unlike other reviewer's comments about a musty smell. The breakfast is from 5:30-9:30. If there is a mobility issue, request staying on the first floor since there are no elevators. We stayed in the annex which is a separate building away from the main building and quieter. There is a cocktail bar in the middle of the main building which I could foresee to be noiser for the surrounding rooms.

Not even close to the best Best Western motel we've stayed at. At best it is average. The breakfast was probably the best part of this stay. I don't know if this is typical of all the rooms but one thing that we found oddly comical was the commode in the bathroom was installed against the wall on one side. It was like someone trying to crowd you off of the thing.

Our room was on the 2nd floor. There was a strong odor in the room that we couldn’t air out even with the window open for 2 days. Smelled like body odor. Room appeared clean and tidy and bedding smelled clean. The shower curtain was folded up and not hung up. We had to attach it before showering. While sitting at the desk we noticed a bad case of “dust bunnies” hanging from the inside of the desk lamp while we were eating there. Icky! I’m hoping this is an anomaly for the time being. We might try another hotel the next time we are in Homer.

Thank you for staying with us through the years. We had a massive help shortage in April and May. We kept up with things the best we could concentrating on cleanliness with the corona virus still lingering. The good news is we are fully staffed now and hope to see you again soon. Have a great day.

The property was clean. Above average in cleanliness for Alaska. The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was a nice feature and tasty for all in our group. Perfect location for Homer even if not actually on the Spit.

The room was of a decent value and is in a good location in Homer, however, the 6 nights that I spent there were the worst nights of sleep that I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. I had twenty-somethings (Coast Guard service members?) that were living in the rooms above and next to me, and partied most of the day and night. One morning I found part of a glass beer bottle that seemed to have fallen into my shoe off the second story verandah from the previous night’s party. A very disappointing experience at the Best Western Bidarka Inn.

We were in Alaska for almost two weeks. This was our one and only bad experience. The beds are bad enough that even our teens didn’t sleep well. Breakfast was not good at all. Furthermore, we ended up in a dispute over being charged for two rooms after staff miscommunicated with my wife and they would not refund us for the additional unused room. She was supposedly getting a medical worker discount, instead they double charged us. What an awesome way to support medical workers and what a GREAT way to treat customers. Do NOT go here. There are much better options in Homer from my understanding and I regret we didn’t do more research.

The Best Western-Bidarka Inn- is a very clean, comfortable, and safe place to stay while visiting Homer, Alaska! The staff in the front office delivers awesome customer service, the maid services are top notch, the restaurant and drink lounge located at this Best Western hotel are both great, too! The food at the hotel’s restaurant/lounge is all really good, the drinks are served up just right, and just the whole vibe of the eatery at the hotel is just what you’d want and except it to be in a place like little Homer, Alaska! Definitely would stay here again! My husband and I were traveling with our small dog in tow and this Best Western Welcomed him without any issues! Woof!

The room was dusty and hot (was told about a fan on a shelf, but it did not help even with the window open). The road noise is beyond ridiculous - they need to add another pane to those windows. Don't stay in a room over Otter Room, a restaurant we were told closed at a decent time and didn't play music (it did until around 1am). The only plus was breakfast, which was delicious with fantastic staff. Otherwise it is a complete waste of money (and sleep).

Our family of five (two adults, three teens) stayed here for two nights. Everyone we interacted with was so nice. The complimentary breakfast was excellent (kids gave the waffles a solid 10/10!). Walking distance to the beach area and Fat Olives (excellent place for pizza). Would definitely stay her again!

I made our reservation through their website, but unbeknownst to me, the date was wrong…my bad of course. We show up at the hotel to be rudely told we were a no show and they charged us full rate because we didn’t call. Of course we didn’t call because I didn’t know a mistake had been made. The desk clerk was as rude about this as possible with no empathy or offer to help or understanding. Fortunately they had a room, so we essentially paid twice…but what can you do once you have traveled this far. I’ll probably never return to Homer and, if I do, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I am sorry that you made your 1st reservation for the wrong date. We held a room for you with no way of knowing this. You also threw your ID and CC at the front desk clerk when the situation was explained. Please call and confirm your reservations in the future. It will most likly prevent this from happening in the future. I hope you enjoy your time in Homer. Have a nice day.
