My partner and I originally booked 3 nights (the minimum you can stay) and ended up staying there for the rest of our trip (3 weeks). We had an absolute great time at this hostel! The toilets and showers were always clean, the floors always swept and the kitchen was always spotless in the morning. Tisa was always a laugh,... More

This place was truly awful! please see pics We stayed here for five nights in July in a double room upstairs. The whole of the establishment is filthy, in the bedrooms and bathroom this is just horrible but in the kitchen the grime is dangerous. When we arrived we were directed to a dark corridor with number-less doors so we... More

Upon arrival, all guests are asked to check in, once check in is complete, guests are shown the kitchen, bathrooms and their rooms and also shown how to lock and open their rooms, which the owner did with you on arrival and there was no damage to the curtain or missing pillow when he opened your room for you, when... This is a great place to stay if your on a budget. I stayed for 4 nights in a single room and found the accommodation to be clean. I was picked up by Bill who was very lovely and accommodating. If I ever go back to Rarotonga I will definitely stay at the Backpackers International as it is also located... More

Firstly, when guests book with us via booking engines, we send a standard email requesting check in information, this is so we can organise ourselves if there is an airport pick up needed, or to organise someone to be there to check in guests as like all budget accomodations on the island, we are not 24hours. Also, we were at... More

I liked the affordability of the accommodation and my expectations were met for the room and living areas. The manager did her job to pick us up at the airport and give us information we needed and more. I enjoyed the people I met staying here very much. I was annoyed that the manager would sit in the office adjoined... More

Thank you for your honesty, with at least the first 2 sentences of your review. I am surprised you are still annoyed after all this time, as yes I did say we do refund your money. However, like the "Checkout Checklist" in all the rooms state, "We do charge a 1 night cancellation fee if you wish to cut your... More

Staying at the backpackers was a fun time, I was one of the lucky ones Tisa actually picked up at the airport ;-) I booked in for the dorm and got a twin room, which I first shared with a guy and then with a girl. The facilities could do with a makeover, but when I was there there was... More

Thank you for your awesome and honest review. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us and good news, we got some new burners in the kitchen. We're currently, slowly renovating here and there, it's actually coming along quite well, island time, but still coming along. The ping pong balls keep disappearing, but we got a new dart board. We've... More

I spend about 12 days there. It was nice and simple with everything you need. A bed, a small cozy room (even dorm, only 2 or 3 people max), hot showers and kitchen. You have free transfer from the airport arriving from an international flight. You have a small shop close to the hostel, a bike and scooter hire and... More

Thank you for your honest and sweet review, glad you enjoyed the island life, simple. I know it can be a hassle when your rooms are close to the common area, we do try and remind everyone to keep their voices down, but I know. Good news on that front though, when we finished renovating the common areas, we're going... More
