You’ll leave Mauke with a sense of sadness - and a clear idea that you’ll return one fine day. Simply because a stay with Ta and Teata at Tiare Cottages, is an experience you won’t easily forget. At the airport we were picked up by Ta, who welcomed us with a beautiful “Eikato” (flower garland for the head) that is... More

Everything you expect of a south seas retreat. Stayed here for four days and the simple lodgings gave great access to an island unspoiled by development. Arrival at the airport reminded me of ferry arrivals in the Western Isles of Scotland!

It was wonderful and welcoming to stay on Mauke with Ta and Teata. I stayed at the O Kiva cottage and never slept better. I saw the other cottages and they are also nice and you can hear the pounding hypnotic surf from all of them. Ta and Teata do it all: provide meals, a motor bike, a place to... More

After the hustle and bustle of Rarotonga (not to mention the US), Mauke was a tranquil paradise, and we couldn't have done better than the Okiva cottage at Tiare cottages. Our hosts, Ta and Teata, made sure we had everything we needed and did all they could to immerse us in the local island culture. Okiva was a great place,... More

2nd time at Mauke and Tiare Cottages. Spent a week here Aug/Sep 2013, wonder why we did not stay for 2 weeks. Maybe next time...Do not compare our 5 star rating with grand hotels and resorts in big cities. O'kiva bungalow by the sea just is our favorite and the best you can get on the island. Why...it has all... More

We loved Mauke and loved Tiare Holiday Cottages. We felt so welcome. It was like being part of the community. Mauke is amazing. We walked a lot and found idyllic beaches and coves. We saw the world's biggest banyan tree, and could never have got there without Ta's guidance. Honestly, if you want to experience the Cook Islands properly forget... More

We have stayed at Tiare Cottages previously but this time we stayed in the Okiva cottage. OMG. We loved it. From the greeting at the airport where we were given ei's to the day we left - once again with new ei's we had a great time. Okiva is a lovely little cottage at the end of a walkway which... More

We stayed at the cottages for two memorable nights during Apr 2013. Our sincere thanks go to the hosts, Ta and Teata, for their warm welcome and generosity. The O Kiva cottage was fantastic; very private with a bush clad walk of 50m to a point above the reef with amazing views of the coast and ocean. Seeing is believing,... More

I couldn't recommend Tiare Holiday Cottages more highly. Mostly because of the wonderful hospitality of the hosts and the beautiful surroundings. The lookout spot is possibly the best place on the planet to sit and feel the fragrant north wind while looking out at the ocean. Teata and Ta are knowledgable about the island (among many other things) and can... More

Each island has its own personality but there is one common denominater -the friendliness of the islanders. We were royally... More
