We had a short but pleasant stay at the resort. As such the age of the resort shows little bit in some areas (particularly the gym) but the bungalows are nice, well maintained and there is good amount of free activities (water stuff but also fussball, table tennis and pool table)

Kia Orana, Thank you for your review on your visit to Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort. I am delighted that you had a pleasant stay and you found the bungalows well maintained. We are currently undertaking a complete and progressive upgrade of our resort which includes rethatching of the bungalows, interior design, landscaping our grounds and gardens and building a new activity centre which will have a fully equipped gym. As mentioned we have a number of water and land based activities which are all complementary and the bicycles are great to move around the resort as well as to explore the many beautiful locations on Aitutaki. I am delighted the staff were super and helpful and they contributed to your positive response. We encourage all prospective visitors to our “Island Paradise” to visit our web site and explore the various types of bungalows available and pricing accordingly. All bungalows have a 360 degree virtual tour making the choice much easier. I am delighted you found the quality of the food very good and our pricing reflective of other resorts and restaurants on Aitutaki. Chef has recently introduced a new daily changing dinner menu which incorporates international favourites as well as a wider range of local ingredients and it has been well received by our guests and visitors. Our tropical buffet breakfast features a variety of fresh local fruits, fruit juices, speciality breads, Danish pastries, croissants, sliced cold meats, chees and tomato, pancakes with maple syrup, toast and spreads, coffee and teas and our refreshing drinking coconut. I am pleased you found everything was good value for money. Special low season prices are available and they can be viewed on our web site. We suggest planning and booking well in advance to gain maximum benefit of our special discounts. Thank you again for visiting our adults only private island resort and we look forward to welcoming you back. Kia Manuia, Mark, Sue and the Team

We've all seen photos of Aitutaki but until you see it in person it just takes your breath away. The resort was amazing. We had no complaints. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We would return tomorrow if we could.

Kia Orana, Thank you for your review. I am delighted that you chose Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort as your preferred destination with its magnificent location on the shores of Aitutaki lagoon. It is pleasing to read that you enjoyed your welcome at both the airport and resort and with all our guests it is Sue and I’s pleasure to introduce ourselves and in our welcome we always encourage everyone to seek our assistance if required. We are currently undertaking a progressive and comprehensive upgrade of our resort which includes the rethatching of the bungalows roofs, interior decoration, landscaping of our gardens and grounds and a full redevelopment of areas affected by the fire. Our plans for a new reception are very advanced and rethatching of the existing lobby is part of this project. At the front of each balcony there is a hose and nozzle which can be used for a quick spray after enjoying a relaxing dip in the pristine waters of the lagoon and they can also be used to wash snorkel equipment and reef shoes. Privacy curtains are available for the out door showers should guests require them and these can be requested through reception. Guests can choose from many locations around the resort to relax on the sun lounges and explore the water for marine life. One of the most favourite locations is Kuriri Point where the water is crystal clear and the gently sloping sandy beach makes access very accessible. Unfortunately, like many other parts of the world, global warming is also affecting our piece of paradise in the South Pacific and we are working very closely with the local council and marine experts to re develop our foreshore. Our water sports equipment includes kayaks, stand up paddle boards, snorkelling equipment and reef shoes which are all available at our activities centre in front of the premium bungalows. Guest enjoy taking the kayaks with snorkelling equipment and paddling to the close by uninhabited islands to explore the clear waters which are abundant with colourful marine life. Aitutaki Lagoon is a vast expanse of water and on occasions the sediment is disturbed with the flow of water due to tidal movements but it settles very quickly ensuring good snorkelling and swimming conditions. Guests enjoy strolling or bicycling around the island through our coconut grove and there are many places to stop and view the beautiful scenery. Our new beach bar and BBQ located close to Kuriri Point will open very shortly and will offer lunch from midday to 2.00pm and guests can choose from a full selection of beverages including our famous “Island Boy or Island Girl” cocktails until 5.00pm. Our ferry operates from 6.00am in the morning until 10.30pm daily and many guests take our complementary bicycles and explore the many isolated locations around Aitutaki or venture into town to browse the shops. I am delighted chef’s daily changing dinner menu which incorporates many international favourites as well as a wide range of local ingredients was very well received by yourselves and you enjoyed our happy hour specials. Sue and I enjoy hosting management cocktails every Monday and Thursday night from 6.00pm around the swimming pool next to the Bounty Restaurant. Our famous Aitutaki crab race is light hearted fun for everyone and happens at 6.30pm. Sue and I are very proud of our friendly, helpful and smiling staff and I am pleased to read you also have the same impression. We encourage all perspective guests to visit our web site to view the different style of bungalows available with relevant pricing. There is a 360 degree virtual tour of each bungalow and many links sharing information and images of the resorts facilities and services. We do have a duty manager available from 7AM to 9PM daily that would have been more than happy to address your concerns and similarly I would have been happy to meet with you if you’d let me know about your concerns. If you have any further concerns that you would like me to address please feel free to contact me directly. Again, thank you for visiting on of the most beautiful parts of the world. Kia Manuia, Mark, Sue and the Team.

I am delighted you found our peaceful adults only private island resort exactly as you imagined and everyone contributed to your memorable occasion. Chef has recently introduced a new daily changing menu incorporating international favourites as well as a larger range of local ingredients and it has been extremely well received for our guests. Do any of your room types have an indoor shower?
I don't think so. Bur really, you don't need one.

Hi, renee536. What would you like to know about this accommodation? I am very concerned about the recent post for December, 2017 which states that the resort was half closed and terribly rundown. We are planning on being there January 6th for 12 days and are very concerned now that we are going to be very disappointed. Can anyone assure us that things have been remedied? Thank you.

We will be staying at another resort for one day on Aitutaki prior to our stay at Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa. What transport arrangements are available to get us from our first resort on Aitutaki to Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa? Thank you
Aitutaki lagoon and spa have a shuttle bus. Just advise them where you are and they will pick you up. Or you can get a taxi

Can someone from the hotel please answer this question? What is the current cost of the ferry to the mainland please? And also the cost of a standard 2 or 3 course meal in the restaurants in the evening? (I assume in NZD!) Thank you :)
Kia Orana - the ferry is complimentary between 7 AM and 10 PM. A standard two or three course meal in the evenings in New Zealand dollars not including drinks would be between $30 and $40 per person. Please let us know if we can offer you any further assistance.

Sorry we didn't get the ferry to the mainland...and our holiday was an all inclusive package deal.
