While walking around Denali, I saw this on a sign describing the original Savage Camp used by visitors to the park in the 1920-1930s...."while camp life is not pretentious, it is comfortable and permits one to enjoy being close to nature's own without enduring hardships" and I thought of the BluesBerry Inn. Sure, it doesn't have the luxury of a...

This is an older style lodging 1/2 hour away from Denali NP. It is quite basic, unfinished and old. However it is clean, very affordable for this part of Alaska and a warm and welcoming owner that goes out of his way to assist in providing local knowledge. I would have preferred an easier check-in rather than having to phone...

I can start with the ONE positive I noticed. The owner was nice, asked if we liked coffee and brought some that we could use. The room was disgusting. It hadn't been fully renovated, the painting in the bathroom wasn't finished, the shower stall was filthy, but was a bonus compared to the shower curtain. When we questioned the price...

The owner is welcoming and accommodating, but the facilities are run down, rooms and shared bathroom are not clean, and the place has an eerie feel to it. There is not a front desk for check in, you have to contact the owner prior to your arrival. The inn is surrounded by mountains, so the scenery is quite pretty. I...

This is a one man show. Our room was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait for the owner to appear out of nowhere and he was very welcoming. The room was adequate and clean, with poor quality blankets and towels. The beds were comfortable.

This facility is not ready for customers. We had reserved 2 rooms for 4 adults. When we arrived the owner was vacuuming. He was vacuuming the hall and finishing the one room that was ready..many of the other rooms were not ready for clients..beds unmade, dirty rooms, dirty sheets on the stairs. We were told by the owner that he was...

This is classic you get what you pay for. Very run down and I thought I was going to fall through the floor. It is fine for a solo traveler who doesn't mind roughing it or for college kids, etc. Can't properly describe the oddness of it all. Two stars, not one because it is cheap and the owner Rod...

Our plans to stay in the Denali area changed, so we needed new accommodations. We called the Bluesberry Inn and spoke with the owner Rod. He had one room left but was trying to clean all the rooms by himself as his housekeeper had not arrived for the season yet. He was swamped trying to do laundry, clean rooms etc....

The rooms were very basic, but clean and comfortable. The owner was very helpful. He even told us the best places to stop and take a picture of the Mountian on the trip to the inn. It was only a half hour away from the pick up location of our Denali bus tour.
