This hotel is old but clean. it's in the middle of industrial part of town, there is no attractions around it. During rush hour traffic it takes up to 55 minutes to get there from the main international airport. If there is no traffic it takes about 20 minutes with a taxi. If you are tourist you won't like this...

I have stayed here numerous times as it is close to a dentist I go too. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms had rather old décor / bedspreads (orange) on last visit and hopefully they can update. Rooms are basic but nice with kitchenettes, including a frig. Do not leave any food or snacks on the counter. The...

I stayed at El Sesteo for about a week while having dental work done. The staff was friendly and helpful. The central courtyard had lush landscaping and a pool with jacuzzi. I looked forward to the delicious breakfast served daily, and the coffee was what you would expect in Costa Rica - excellent. The hotel has controlled access and a...

Booking was made months in advance and check in went without a problem. Staff were friendly and professional. Location was within a 15 minute walk of the main shopping street and markets of San Jose. Very secure hotel with a guard at the main door 24/7. Having said that, I walked regularly in to town and back and never had...

El Sesteo is a bit out of the main town, in a noisy location near trains and roads. The rooms need upgrading but the bathrooms were ok, with hot showers. I thought I wouldn't sleep well due to the noise but actually slept fine. The pool area is quite nice but small and noisy again, so only ok for a...

Hotel location does not provide easy access to restaurants or areas of interest. Rooms are basic and in need of a refurbished with no air conditioning. No tea / coffee facilities are provided, nor is any drinking water provided in the rooms. Staff were not friendly or approachable. We stayed one night prior to a tour and cancelled the night...

The pool and main hotel areas are very nice, breakfast was delicious! Also although the reception isn't open 24 hours there was a security guard, so checking out at early times is not an issue. The rooms are very basic but what you would expect for the price. Everything is clean and well presented but just slightly dated.
