I had no choice about the Villa Tournon because it was part of a package and I had to go there twice - at the start and end of a Costa Rica holiday. The whole hotel is shabby and suffers from traffic noise. Some rooms have been upgraded and have a hairdryer in the bathroom. Some have parquet floors, some...

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of a tour Staff friendly &helpful. Room very tired & in need of refurbishment. Lighting very poor. However comfortable enough, plenty of hot water & good free wifi. Good breakfast to suit all tastes. Restaurant also has good choice at night.

We stayed for one night at each end of a group tour of Costa Rica. It was apparent that groups make up much of the hotels clientele. The service was generally good. The hotel and its rooms certainly need some refurbishment. The air conditioning is old, not thermostatically controlled and noisy. The bathroom had a shower over a bath, which...

Big room, one floor down from Reception, overlooking the pool area. Plenty of hot water and a bath. Free wifi throughout the hotel and two PCs in Reception. About 15 minutes walk to the main square. Dinner in the hotel was just OK but expensive. Beer was very expensive. Very few customers. Breakfast was self service and adequate. Polite staff...

The hotel is a bit noisy as a busy road on 2 sides are facing busy roads on a hill! The staff were very helpful and did our laundry within 1.5 hours which we were not expecting and a great surprise. Breakfast is good and very traditional as well as catering for those that preferred more continental style rather than...

We stayed at this hotel at the start, and end of our trip to Costa Rica. Our second room (one floor down from reception) was much nicer than our first. The first room was on the same level as reception, and was very small, and had 40 mosquitoes in the bath/shower room. The second room was large, had a double...

I stayed for one night in this hotel at the beginning of an organised tour. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful but I found the room to be drab, in need of a good spring clean!! The bed had seen better days and very uncomfortable, the room very noisy from street traffic. The restaurant staff again very friendly...

We stayed here for 4 nights, 3 before our tour and one after and before the flight home. The reception is very helpful but I feel they are held back by the dated and arrogant approach of the management/owner who are definitely not in touch with the modern traveller's requirements. There was no facility to arrange a hotel taxi to...

This hotel claims to be 4 star - it's not! The rooms need updating, our room had no air-conditioning, it was difficult to sleep over the noise of the traffic outside and worse was the awful artifical reek of plug-in airfreshner. If you like congealed, grey scrambled egg, then you'll love the delightful breakfast. Dinner was okay, but the constant...

This hotel claims to be 4 star - it's not! Shabby rooms with features needing updating, air-conditioning units that make more noise than the traffic outside (which is saying something!) The whole hotel reeks of plug-in airfreshner. Dreadful breakfast and a dinner that wasn't much better. But above all, the most rude management I have ever encountered. After politely asking...
