We arrived late from the airport but the concierge was very accomodating. Our room was small but confortable and quiet. As we were jet laged from the trip the night before, we woke up early which was great cause the breakfast was served early too :) Breakfast has all you need, including beans and fried platanos. We were able to...

We only stayed one night, as I think a few people do, but headed out early the next morning. Our airport transfer, booked through the hotel when we emerged from the airport, and we were down to the hotel with no hassle. We got there quite late so opted to eat in the bar/restaurant which has a nice terrace out...

Very nice hotel inthe middle of san jose. Everything on walking distance. Breakfast is good, could be a little more choice. Staff very friendly and willing to help. Rooms are clean, little bit older, but great atmosphere! The train isnt very noisy. Just something that belongs to san jose

I only stayed one night so didn't get much time to discover the local area but it does seem to be very central and was less than a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport. The hotel itself is quaint but I would say a little dated and dark. It is not a place I would rave about however the...

We stayed in this hotel on two occasions at each end of our Costa Rican trip. It's a very comfortable, friendly hotel ideally located for exploring San Jose as its only a short walk to museums and the city centre. There are also a handful of nice restaurants within short walking distance. We stayed in two different rooms on our...

We stayed here twice in the space of two weeks firstly when we arrived to Costa Rica and then when we were leaving for England. The rooms are nice, quirky decor, bright colors, nice beds and hot water (which was very rare throughout our stay in South and Central America!). Hotel is in a great location, few minutes away from...

Old fashioned boutique hotel in the heart of San Jose (great location), the room was nice, bed vey comfy, but the furniture is a bit old and it was quite warm inside (no windows in some of the rooms). Good opportunity to rest, and small cosy restaurant overlooking the street.

Dear Eddy Thank you for your nice commentary. Maybe you realized that we are remodeling the Hotel. This is quite a challenge, because the Hotel is under Patrimony protection. We almost have finished with the Lobby and soon we can concentrate our efforts to the rooms. We would be pleased to welcome you back, if you were to return to...

We stayed here because of location, price, and reviews. It's a very charming hotel and you feel like you're back at home. We had everything we needed- comfy beds, hot water, WiFi. There wasn't a safe in our room. It's close to great nightlife and restaurants in San Jose.

Even though the hotel was being renovated, there was a dinner menu available nightly for the bar area and a free FABULOUS but select, QUALITY buffet breakfast with fresh fruits, breads, juices, and hot selections. Several days this was my only meal as I often didn't wish to eat after a full day of dental work and novicane. I love...

Nice hotel in old Victorian building. We had a standard room, which was facing some small court yard, or similar. There was a window in the room that brought in some light, but there was no view at all. The bed had a metal frame, that squeezed. So did the floors. But I guess that is what's called "character".
