This is the best hotel in San Jose in my opinion. The service is second to none - you feel like you are at home. The breakfast is fantastic, and this place has the best bacon I have ever had in my life!! No lie. I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. Very clean, and a great value. Thank...

We really enjoyed our stay at Posada El Quijote. It was beautiful, charming, quiet and safe. San Jose is a quick bus ride away, but you feel removed and at peace from the city noise. The staff was very helpful; bringing us coffee on arrival, recommending transportation and tours, places to visit after San Jose, etc. It was such a...

up in the montain, amazing view on San José and the volcanos. Very nice garden, big rooms with comfortable king size beds. Big bathroom. Very nice leaving room and dinning room. You will have to ring the bell for the staff to open the gate. You can park inside. Very friendly staff. Excellent value.

From the moment we booked this hotel we realised we were dealing with people who truly understand what excellent customer service means. Our interactions prior to our arrival were terrific - every question was answered swiftly and with good grace. Alcides and the other front of house staff did their best to ensure that our stay would be terrific. They...

I had no idea what to expect when I booked this place. I had a good feeling from the start, as emails where answered promptly. I had allot of questions as we had never been to the Central Valley area. Much to our surprise!!! What a nice quiet, small quaint, clean place. Everyone was so helpful with "everything" to booking...

We spent one night here as a base camp of sorts to get to stores that aren't available to us (we live atop a small mountain in a rural part of the country). We got to meet both of the gentlemen that work the front desk as well as half of the owners (the husband but not the wife) during...

Small boutique hotel in fairly quiet neighborhood. Comfortable public areas. Very home-like with house dog and trampoline. Simple but very clean rooms. Excellent breakfast included with several great options. Very reasonable prices. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Amazing view of the city.

This is a beautiful old property in San Jose, Escazu District. Though a little frayed and worn around the edges, it is very nice. Free wifi, free breakfast, and an exceptional staff. Some minor fixes and a little upgrading and it would be a 5-star facility.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Posada El Quijote is a Spanish colonial inn set against a backdrop of spectacular views of Costa Rica's central valley and the city of San Jose.Situated atop the first hill 3.5 miles from the city center, Posada El Quijote is far enough to be in a comfortable country setting, free from the congestion and noise of the capitol, but close enough to enjoy easy access to the city and its facilities. The recently refurbished hotel, with a history dating back to 1994, offers an alternative to the large hotel chains that have recently established themselves in the area; Large enough to accomodate groups, but small enough to offer a very homely, relaxed and personal atmosphere.
